Based on recent leaks, it seems Genshin Impact's 2.6 update will actually allow players to explore two different parts of the long-awaited Chasm locale. Following months of rumors and leaked details, developer HoYoverse (the team formerly known as miHoYo) told viewers during a Version 2.5 stream to expect Genshin Impact's Chasm location to finally become explorable in Update 2.6.

HoYoverse's tease from early February notably offered a closer look at concept art. Viewers were also treated to hints about a new area in The Chasm referred to as The Surface, which should play host to encounters with the Ruin Serpent creature. Little else is known about The Chasm at present, though a leaked map did make the rounds a couple of weeks ago, showing off a sneak peek at above ground points of interest such as teleport spots. With many expecting Genshin Impact Version 2.6 to arrive towards the end of March, even more rumors about upcoming content will likely begin surfacing in the days and weeks ahead.

Earlier this week, reliable leaker BLANK (via Reddit user sarthakydv) took to Twitter to share images of two separate Chasm maps that will appear in Genshin Impact Update 2.6. A look at the above-ground portion of the map features official names for a variety of areas, including Fuao Vale, Glaze Cliff, and Dunyu Ruins. BLANK (via GameRant) also uploaded a glimpse at The Chasm's underground mines; official names for its myriad points of interest include Underground Waterways, Stony Halls, and the Ad-Hoc Main Tunnel. Check out both parts as they're represented in the shots below:

Considering the expected size of Genshin Impact's Chasm area, it makes sense that HoYoverse would split the locale into two sizable maps. Exactly how players will traverse the two spaces presently remains unknown to the public, but the studio should share concrete details soon enough. After all, as mentioned above, the Version 2.6 content will likely go live across all available platforms before the end of this month.

HoYoverse rolled out Genshin Impact Version 2.5 in mid-February, adding a whole host of new content to the experience. For instance, 5-star Electro user and Yae Publishing House owner Yae Miko joined the ranks as a playable character. Players also received access to previously unseen story quests, events, and weapons, the latter of which included the 5-star Kagura's Verity - a weapon for the newly released Yae Miko. But, as always, Genshin Impact faithful are already eager to see what the next major update will have in store.
