Genshin Impact 2.3 is well underway after it was released at the end of November, and information about the 2.4 version has already begun to leak online as players look forward to the next update. While miHoYo hasn’t announced an official release date yet, it’s likely that the developer will follow its consistent 6-week update schedule. With the rumors going around online, it’s safe to say that players will have plenty to look forward to when this update goes live next year.

As usual, players will receive 300 Primogems to compensate for the time the server is down for maintenance, which can be claimed any time before the 2.4 update ends. That being said, players will have to claim their 300 Primogems from 2.3 before 2.4 is released. The 1,600 Primogems that were given away in celebration of Genshin Impact’s win for Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards will have to be claimed before the end of 2.3 as well, but there’s still plenty of time for players to take advantage of this free 10-pull before it’s gone.

miHoYo also tends to follow a consistent livestream schedule to announce all of the exciting new content coming in each update, and while the next livestream hasn’t been announced yet, it’s likely to fall on or around December 24. However, the date of this livestream may be changed due to the holiday, so players will have to keep an eye on miHoYo’s Twitter and other social media accounts to find out the exact date and time when it’s revealed. The Genshin Impact 2.4 beta test has led to a ton of leaks and rumors, and while most of these haven’t been confirmed by miHoYo, it seems that there will be plenty for players to look forward to as Genshin Impact 2.4 moves the game into 2022.

Genshin Impact All Yun Jin Character Leaks Explained

Given the past update schedule, the Genshin Impact 2.4 release date should be on January 5, 2022. This would place it six weeks after the 2.3 update came out. miHoYo confirmed that Shenhe and Yun Jin will be featured as playable characters in the update, but information about their rarity has yet to be revealed. Shenhe is a polearm user with the Cryo element, and Yun Jin is a polearm user as well with the Geo element. Additionally, there are rumors that Xiao and Ganyu will be featured as reruns in this update, but this has yet to be confirmed by the developers.

According to leaks from the Genshin Impact 2.4 beta, players may be venturing to the new Enkanomiya region in the next update, an area that has previously been mentioned several times in-game. The Lantern Rite Festival’s anniversary will also come and go before the update ends, and leaks have suggested that the event will take place again next year during 2.4. If true, this festival could coincide with the rerun of Xiao considering his prominent role in the event, but players will have to wait for miHoYo’s confirmation of the information revealed in these 2.4 leaks. For those eager for the next update, Genshin Impact 2.4 should come out on January 5, 2022.
