Two of the newest playable characters arriving in Genshin Impact have been officially unveiled on social media. Although Version 2.3 is arriving soon, miHoYo has already shown off new images and information regarding Shenhe and Yun Jin, both of whom will ostensibly release in Version 2.4. For those eager to recruit Yun Jin onto their teams, here's everything known about her so far from the latest reveals.
As with recent character reveals, miHoYo has unveiled Shenhe and Yun Jin for Genshin Impact way ahead of the next update. Both characters were given two tweets apiece, detailing their Elemental Vision and weapon proficiencies. Yun Jin, along with Shenhe in Genshin Impact, will be a new polearm wielder and a Geo user. After Version 2.3, which includes three Geo users on Banners, this is a bit surprising, and it definitely crowds the Geo character roster quickly.
However, new playable characters are always an exciting time in Genshin Impact, and many fans will likely want to pull for Yun Jin regardless. Character leaks for Yun Jin showed up online earlier this year, where fan renders (like the photo below) began to circulate. Leakers have a pretty good track record with Genshin Impact, but it's still impressive for how closely the fan renders resemble the official image of Yun Jin shared by miHoYo.
Genshin Impact 2.4: When Yun Jin May Be Playable
The latest official Genshin Impact information revealed that Yun Jin is the director of the Yun-Han Opera Troupe and is famous in Liyue. Beyond this info (and the fact that she's a Geo polearm user), not much is known about her right now. However, fans eager to pull for her in the next update may have to wait a bit longer - especially if Version 2.4 follows the same Banner schedule as Version 2.3.
Gorou and Itto are both new characters for Genshin Impact 2.3, but Banner reruns for Eula and Albedo are coming first. This means the Banners for Gorou and Itto won't arrive until about halfway through the 2.3 update. If Version 2.4 follows this same release schedule, then Yun Jin may not be playable until the end of January 2022.
The latest tweets regarding Shenhe and Yun Jin stopped short of providing a release date for the characters, but it's highly likely both will appear as a part of Genshin Impact 2.4. This update arrives the first week of January, although players may have to wait around three weeks for the new characters to arrive if Banner reruns occur first. Hopefully, additional information regarding Yun Jin will be released soon.
