Although Version 2.0 of Genshin Impact has only just released, developer miHoYo has already revealed the new playable characters who will presumably be arriving in the next update. Genshin Impact 2.1 is still nearly six weeks away, but for fans of the game, looking ahead to see which characters will be playable next is always a major source of excitement.

The 2.0 update for the free-to-play RPG added a lot of new content thanks to the Inazuma region finally opening up. New playable characters for Genshin Impact 2.0 include Ayaka, whose Banner is now live, as well as upcoming allies like Yoimiya and Sayu. miHoYo has never been one to rest on its laurels, however, and the company has already teased a PlayStation-exclusive Horizon crossover that will bring Aloy into the game as a Cryo user. In addition to all of this, the characters for Version 2.1 also appear to be officially confirmed now.

These latest reveals come via the official Genshin Impact Twitter account, which have shown off new images and information for three upcoming characters. Kokomi was a part of leaks months ago before being officially revealed in the 2.0 trailer. Sara, another leaked character, also made an appearance during miHoYo's Version 2.0 livestream. Raiden Shogun, also known as Baal, had been the source of a lot of excitement ahead of 2.0's release, and it look as if she'll finally be playable in the 2.1 update as well.

Genshin Impact 2.1's Raiden Shogun, Kokomi, & Sara Explained

Initially surfacing online as part of an alleged datamine for Genshin Impact, Kokomi leaks were prevalent up until her reveal in the 2.0 livestream. Kokomi will be a Hydro user once she's playable. Sara, a member of the Kojou Clan and a bow-wielder, will be a new Electro user once she's added into the game. Raiden Shogun, who begins 2.0 in a more antagonistic role, will also be an Electro user once she's playable in Version 2.1. The tweet can be viewed below:

While miHoYo shared a bit of background info on these characters, it's generally nothing new from what fans have learned through lore, the official manga, or the newest 2.0 content. Still, it's great to see that these three characters have all been ostensibly confirmed for the next update. While miHoYo stopped just short of announcing release dates - or outright confirming them for Genshin Impact 2.1 - it's highly likely this will be the case, especially considering the company used the same tactic for 2.0 characters like Ayaka, Yoimiya, and Sayu.
