Although Version 1.6 of Genshin Impact is underway, with a livestream aimed at the game's next update set for this week, fans can already sign up for a beta test of Version 2.1. Beta tests have become a highly sought-after aspect of the fandom, as it allows participants to glimpse content months ahead of it fully releasing in-game. Here's everything to know about how and where to sign up for Genshin Impact 2.1's beta.

The next Genshin Impact update livestream is set to take place on July 9, which is expected to finally introduce the Inazuma region. Anticipation is understandably high, since it means a large portion of new quests, story content, playable characters, and other features should all be added in with the new update. However, developer miHoYo is already charging ahead by opening up the Version 2.1 beta sign-ups to fans.

To sign up for the beta, users will first have to join the official Discord server. It's free to join, and it's also where miHoYo shares a good bit of its content, so fans may want to consider joining even if they don't want to be a part of the 2.1 beta. This method was also used during the last Genshin Impact beta test, so it's a system many players may already be familiar with.

Genshin Impact 1.7 Inazuma Map Leaks Explained

As usual, the chances of getting into a Genshin Impact beta is pretty slim. As access to early content gets more and more exclusive, and as the free-to-play RPG increases in popularity, the likelihood of being selected gets significantly lower. Those lucky enough to be chosen will have to sign NDAs (Non-Disclosure Agreements) before being allowed to participate.

This has been standard for other beta tests in Genshin Impact, but that's so far not stopped leaks from showing up online. Beta leaks for Genshin Impact 1.5 and 1.6 were pretty prevalent, and that hasn't slowed down with the most recent upcoming Version either. Characters like Kazuha, Eula, and Yanfei have all leaked after betas, which is a good reason for fans to try to get into the Version 2.1 test.

So far, the information regarding 2.1 is almost nonexistent, as much of the focus has been on getting out the Inazuma content in Genshin Impact. Anyone who wants to try to sign up for the 2.1 beta test will have until July 8, 2021, at 12 PM GM+8 before miHoYo closes applications. That's a pretty narrow window of opportunity, so fans will need to act quickly if they're hoping to get in.
