A number of leaks from the Version 1.6 content of Genshin Impact has already surfaced online. This includes allegedly new playable characters like Kazuha, Yoimiya, and Ayaka. An Electro buff and boat travel are also expected to appear. However, arguably the most exciting piece of new content is the Inazuma region, an island country built on the Electro element and the first new nation to appear in-game.

Typically, miHoYo's livestreams are when new characters and content get revealed, as the developer broadcasts all the characters and features coming in Genshin Impact's new update. Although an official date and time haven't been unveiled for Genshin Impact 1.6's livestream yet, based on past events, it's fairly easy to predict. Most likely, Genshin Impact 1.6 will get its own livestream on May 28, 2021. With the exception of Version 1.4, every livestream has occurred on a Friday, and they've almost always been about two weeks before the new update arrives. This makes May 28 the most likely day for the Version 1.6 livestream, since Genshin Impact 1.6 is expected on June 9 (depending on time zones).
The next big question is regarding what the time the broadcast will start. Again, based on previous times, the livestream for Genshin Impact 1.6 will likely start around 8 AM ET for the original Chinese broadcast. A fully-translated stream in English should follow in the afternoon, as it usually does. Of course, until miHoYo officially releases the date and time of the livestream (which usually doesn't happen until right before the event), there's no way to know for certain.
Genshin Impact Version 1.6 already looks like the biggest update to come to the free-to-play RPG since its initial release last year. And with long-awaited characters like Ayaka allegedly becoming playable and the Inazuma region being added in too, there's a lot for fans of Genshin Impact to look forward to.
