Although first teased by developer miHoYo before Genshin Impact had even officially released, the housing system for the open-world RPG may finally be coming to the game. Recent leaks have shown that the upcoming Version 1.5 will allegedly add a housing and Homeworld system. Here's everything fans need to know about the alleged leaks and the way housing will presumably work in Genshin Impact's next update.

The leaks all come from players who were apparently chosen to participate in the Genshin Impact 1.5 beta. Because the full Version 1.5 will release soon, this means many players in the beta have already had access to the new content and seen what it has to offer. One of the biggest new features that seems to be coming with the update is the housing system, which allows players to gather materials and craft various items themselves.

This isn't the first time Genshin Impact has toyed with genre elements outside traditional RPGs. The Hangout Events series in Version 1.4 leaned into dating and life simulator elements, and certain weapon and armor crafting aspects are already present in the game. The housing system appears to be called Homeworld (slightly different from the "homeland" that miHoYo teased early last year) and a number of tutorials have now leaked online, giving fans an idea of what to expect when the 1.5 update arrives.

Thanks to Project Celestia on Twitter, it looks as if Genshin Impact's Homeworld features will rely on a new gadget called the Serenitea Pot, which allows players to visit their own Homeworld Domain. Once the pot is unlocked, players can start collecting wood and other necessary materials around Teyvat and then craft these materials into home furnishings. As players decorate their homes, they'll also receive Realm Currency, in-game money that can be used at the new Realm Depot to buy even more furniture and housing items.

Of course, it's important to remember that none of these leaks have been confirmed by miHoYo yet, even though they do have a lot in common with the housing system the company has teased in the past. Even if they are indeed real, this is from the Version 1.5 beta, so names and mechanics may change before being officially added to Genshin Impact. As with other Genshin Impact leaks and rumors, it's best to take these leaks with a grain of salt and wait for official confirmation from miHoYo.

Still, a housing system is something fans have wanted in Genshin Impact for a long time, and it's also something miHoYo has teased since before the game even fully released. Even if Homeworld Domains aren't a part of the 1.5 update, this feature will likely be added soon.
