My 600-lb Life typically shares the stories of one patient as they work to lose weight, but the series shared the stories of cousins Geno Decunto and Nico Martone in a season 11 episode. While some episodes have featured siblings or twins, Geno and Nico are the first pair of cousins to be featured on the show. The support the pair showed for one another was incredibly memorable, as they worked diligently to lose enough weight to qualify for life-changing weight loss surgery.

While Geno had been doing his best to work on his health for a while, Nico was tagging along with Geno on a doctor's appointment when he decided to accompany his cousin in his weight loss endeavors. The pair, who worked with My 600-lb Life's Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, decided they would be able to help one another with their goals, pushing each other to stay strict with their dieting and consistent exercise. Even though both My 600-lb Life stars ran into some major issues while losing the weight, both men were eventually approved for weight loss surgery. During their episode, Nico lost 129 pounds, while Geno lost 263 pounds.

Nico Continued Losing Weight After My 600-Lb Life

Nico originally weighed over 430 pounds when he first started his weight loss journey on My 600-lb Life. With his future at risk and his attitude a bit too cavalier for Dr. Now's liking, Nico was pushed by his cousin, his family, and his doctor to lose the weight he needed to in order to have bariatric surgery. After losing nearly 130 pounds, the My 600-lb Life star was approved for surgery, and since the cousins' episode has finished filming, Nico seems to have continued in his weight loss journey. He is newly engaged to his longtime love, Rose, and continues to lose weight and keep up with his health.

Geno Had A More Difficult Time Post-My 600-Lb Life

While Nico has been doing well post weight loss surgery, My 600-lb Life star Geno may not be having as much success with his health as his cousin. Geno originally weighed in at 684 pounds and knew that he needed to make a move or risk losing his life. Geno lost about 165 pounds and was able to have weight loss surgery. Post-surgery, things have been a bit more difficult for Geno. With a lot more weight to lose, the My 600-lb Life star is still working on his health but does seem to be working hard to keep himself motivated.

After some difficulties during their initial time with Dr. Now, both Geno and Nico have defied the odds and lost some weight. The pair are still working hard to stay fit and are both in secure, healthy relationships that keep them supported. They have each other and the rest of their family, along with their My 600-lb Life fans, to keep them accountable.
