The first Gen V trailer shows The Boys spinoff delivering on the franchise's famously gory super powered world. Set at a college campus, Gen V will introduce a young cast of characters who are subject to Vought International's underground Supe-creating experiments. Inspired by both the "We Gotta Go Now" arc from The Boys comics and the G-Men parody, the spinoff show hails from Agent Carter alums Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters. Gen V wrapped filming in September, though a potential release date for the series is still unknown.

Now, as part of Brazil's Comic-Con experience, CCXP, Prime Video has released a new Gen V trailer. The video reveals a first look at the new show, which promises plenty of bloody action sequences as well as the return of a few original The Boys characters, including A-Train (Jessie T. Usher). Everything The Gen V Trailer Reveals About The Boys Spinoff

While The Boys is notorious for depicting blood and gore, Gen V may venture even further than the original series in terms of carnage, which Rogen has also hinted at previously. Several clips in the brief teaser feature characters soaked in blood and even seemingly disemboweled, meaning that the spinoff may be looking to up the already impressively high ante set by The Boys, which includes an infamous scene that saw the characters drive a boat into a whale. The trailer also revealed plenty of shots of the new characters played by the ensemble cast, which includes Lizzie Broadway, Jazz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, and Maddie Phillips, in action, offering glimpses of their powers.

While it was previously reported that Gen V takes place concurrently with The Boys season 3, which aired earlier this year, little crossover between the two properties was expected, so the appearance of The Boys characters in the spinoff trailer is exciting. Among the familiar faces, the perpetually stressed-out Vought president Ashley (Colby Minifie) shows up in Gen V, along with Dawn of the Seven director and Ashley's occasional lover, Adam (P.J. Byrne). As mentioned above, A-Train is also present in the trailer, indicating that Gen V will likely be tackling Vought's strategy for moving forward in the face of public controversy and the loss of several major heroes.

The Gen V trailer also offered a detailed look at the Vought International-run school, called the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting that will serve as a major setting in the spinoff series. In particular, the Gen V trailer revealed some of the propaganda around the school, including a Black Noir poster and Homelander statue, that serves to help indoctrinate the students into fitting Vought's agenda. The characters' experiences at the school may result in some of the most flawed characters in The Boys universe to date, which would certainly be setting a record considering the twisted figures that have shown up in the previous series.
