In November, Nvidia suffered another GeForce leak that revealed many AAA titles and release dates that may appear on PC, but can this leak be trusted? Now that the world has wholly entered the digital age, data miners and hackers alike have begun to bypass cybersecurity with increasing ease. This results in serious security breaches and DNS attacks for high-profile companies and presents a unique opportunity for the public to learn previously hidden information. Despite the hope that GeForce leak 2.0 has brought to some fans, it's unlikely the whole report is accurate.

The second GeForce leak provided a list of Xbox and PlayStation exclusives that may make their way to PC in the coming years. Originally leaked back in November, interested parties can now compare the list of games to news released by AAA publishers and developers. Before the leak, major games like Starfield had already received confirmed release dates, suggesting the informant may have fabricated this list from official announcements and speculations. However, the timeline of certain titles and the progression of certain franchises also provide evidence for the leak to contain valid information. Even the greatest data miners unveil questionable information, and with the ongoing pandemic, it's likely information that was previously accurate changed due to internal timelines and developmental delays. As the suggested timeline of these PC releases comes closer, some info can definitively be proven true or false, speaking to the overall accuracy of the leak.

The GeForce 2.0 leak occurred through a third-party realtor, which spread to Reddit and Twitter to attract more media attention. While some projects are still years away, the upcoming release dates for major games in 2022 and franchise timelines suggest PC is in for some exciting additions. The exchange of exclusives between consoles and PC has been a long time coming, with building gaming PCs and procuring prebuilt PCs and laptops becoming far more economically sensible than purchasing a new console and online subscription every few years. There are many factors to consider when examining the GeForce leak 2.0 and the accuracy of its information, and monetary gain for companies is one of them.

What Appeared In GeForce Leak 2.0?

Hundreds of video games appeared in the GeForce leak, encompassing AAA franchises from Forza Motorsport to new IPs like Redfall. Though communication between developers and the public has suffered during the pandemic, many projects suffer delays from internal difficulties and quality checks. Several games with announced release years have received release dates in the GeForce leak, matching the timeline based on games of these genres and scopes. AAA developers and publishers can hire impressively sized teams, severely decreasing development times to release several high-profile releases each year. If the GeForce leak 2.0 is entirely accurate, players can look forwards to the following titles possibly receiving PC versions in the future:

  • November 9th, 2021 - Forza Horizon 5
  • December 1st, 2021 - Project Indus
  • February 7th, 2022 - Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection
  • February 8th, 2022 - Ghost of Tsushima
  • March 1st, 2022 - Death Stranding: Director’s Cut
  • April 30th, 2022 - Returnal
  • May 1st, 2022 - Sackboy: A Big Adventure
  • May 3rd, 2022 - Helldivers 2
  • June 20th, 2022 - Redfall
  • August 12th, 2022 - Forza Motorsport
  • September 30th, 2022 - Project Mara
  • September 30th, 2022 - Hellblade 2
  • September 30th, 2022 - Horizon Forbidden West
  • October 3rd, 2022 - Ratchet & Clank
  • November 10th, 2022 - Gears of War 6
  • November 11th, 2022 - Starfield (confirmed)
  • December 7th, 2022 - Avowed
  • October 12th, 2023 - Fable
  • January 1st, 2024 - Indiana Jones
  • January 2nd, 2024 - Elder Scrolls VI

How Accurate Is Information In The GeForce 2.0 Leak?

In the available list of games from the GeForce 2.0 leak, two high-profile titles featured confirmed release dates present on the game table. Starfield's currently planned release date is November 11th, 2022, which Bethesda announced before the leak. However, Forza Motorsport isn't suspected to release until November of 2022, a noticeable change from the leak's projected August date.

Other projects listed in the leak are much closer to the projected release dates revealed by developers and publishers. For example, Bethesda confirmed Elder Scrolls 6 would release at some point during the mid-2020s, and the GeForce leak 2.0 lists the title in a January 2024 release window. Nvidia could likely be working with Bethesda to optimize Elder Scrolls 6 as it is being developed. It is even more likely that the company has information on each title currently in development.

Given the information currently available to the public, it's likely the release dates listed in the leak are purely speculative. Nvidia confirmed the first GeForce leak to be legitimate but stated the release dates were speculative. While it's unlikely for a developer or publisher to allow other companies to announce release dates first, the possibility of these titles appearing on PC is high. As more PlayStation and Xbox exclusives port to PC, developers can enjoy a new revenue stream for far less work. The presence of Horizon Forbidden West on the list is especially unsurprising, as Horizon Zero Dawn recently launched on Steam as well. Similarly, Dark Souls is currently available on PC, meaning Ghost of Tsushima may soon join its competitor.

Is The GeForce 2.0 Leak Trustworthy?

Though some dates in the GeForce leak have been proven false by recent news releases, Nvidia’s confirmation of the first leak suggests 2.0 may hold some truth. It’s common for third-party retailers to accidentally leak information, such as Amazon’s accidental reveal of the new Valorant agent. It’s safe to say that all projects listed on the leak have the potential to port to PC, or are currently in development for a PC port. One piece of evidence for this is the recent updates to Death Stranding on Steam, though the game has been more or less abandoned for several months. Frequent updates subtly released points towards new content, which could refer to Death Stranding: Director’s Cut making its way to Steam at some point.

Though GeForce has yet to confirm the validity of the second leak, it’s likely their first statement may mirror a similar stance to Leak 2.0. However, while release dates likely aren’t completely accurate, it gives consumers an idea on when upcoming titles may release. These release dates may be off by While there are a number of upcoming games not included in the full leak, Nvidia’s continued support of many high profile projects assures these games are likely still scheduled for release.

While the Nvidia GeForce leak 2.0 features many major games, it’s unknown how many will ultimately launch on PC. Game development is a risky investment and projects can receive sudden cancellations at any time. However, games listed in GeForce’s leaked files suggests each title has reached an agreement or is in negotiations for porting to PC, especially considering the truth of the first leak. Thankfully, there are still many games available for purchase on PC, especially with Steam’s Winter Sale ongoing until January 5.
