Gears Of War developer The Coalition is currently hiring workers for full-time positions as it moves forward with the franchise's future. Not much is known yet about what Microsoft has in store for fans of its gritty third-person shooter series, but rumor has it that Gears Of War 6 might be on the horizon.

In the meantime, the series has had a busy last couple of years. Gears 5 (which was the second game The Coalition developed after taking over for original Gears developer Epic Games in 2014) was released in 2019, revitalizing the long-running franchise with more visceral combat and a fresh cast of playable characters, including a killer cameo by WWE Superstar and Guardians Of The Galaxy scene-stealer Dave Batista. From there, a turn-based spin-off titled Gears Tactics was released for Microsoft Windows last April, with a port for the Xbox One and Xbox Series X coming alongside the latter in November.

According to Game Rant and Coalition Cinematics Producer Rose Gunson, the studio behind the Gears Of War franchise is currently looking for applicants for full-time positions on future Gears projects. Gunson announced this on Twitter Thursday, with a link to The Coalition’s website asking for people “who are a great cultural fit with [their] team and have the energy, passion, and determination to get things done” to take on jobs like Community Management Director, External Development Manager, and several other positions involving the cinematics, levels, gameplay and UI of an undisclosed Gears Of War title.

No one knows exactly what this new Gears game is, but the most likely prospect would be the aforementioned Gears 6. Recently, there was talk of a Gears Of War 2 remaster for the Xbox Series X, but Microsoft and The Coalition promptly shot said rumors down. Meanwhile, The Coalition recently received a significant staffing shake-up as studio head Rod Fergusson (a key player in the development of the entire Gears series to date) left the studio to work with Blizzard on the Diablo franchise last month.

This vacancy is just one of the many that need to be filled for The Coalition’s next Gears Of War project if Rose Gunson's tweet is any indication. Any talented fans of the previous games in the long-running Gears franchise who wish to put their mark on the next installment can apply for one of the jobs listed on The Coalition’s website.
