The specs that Gears Tactics will run at when it releases on Xbox consoles next month have been revealed and it should look very good on the next-gen systems. The game is a spin-off of the Gears of War franchise that switches up the gameplay to turn-based strategy inspired by the XCOM series. It was well-received when it launched on PC back in April and is set to be a launch title for the Xbox Series X/S.

Although the game has been available for several months, November will mark the first time that console players will be able to experience it. As a first-party exclusive, Gears Tactics will also be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers, who can avoid paying the full $59.99 USD price tag for the title. The developer also has a collection of extra content coming in a major update that will coincide with its next-gen release.

The Verge (summarized neatly by gaming insider Shinobi602) has revealed what the specs of Gears Tactics will be when it launches on Xbox consoles in November. According to the post, the game will run at an impressive 4K resolution and a frame rate of 60 FPS on the Xbox Series X. Meanwhile, the resolution will be downgraded to 1440p at the same frame rate when the title is played on the Xbox Series S. Similar resolutions are available on the Xbox One family of consoles, although the frame rate will drop to just 30 FPS on the older consoles. Shinobi602 also confirmed that the UI has been upgraded to better support a controller, although players will be able to use a keyboard and mouse on consoles if they wish.

Splash Damage and Microsoft also confirmed earlier this month that anyone who plays Gears Tactics when it launches on consoles will get a special extra character skin to use in Gears 5. Users simply have to complete the tutorial in the turn-based strategy game to get access to the Gabe Diaz skin, which will be available from November 17. Players will then be able to use the skin in all online multiplayer matches.

The impressive specs of Gears Tactics on the Xbox Series X might well prompt many players to wait until they upgrade to the next-gen console to pick up the title. However, the fact that Microsoft is utilizing Smart Delivery means that anyone who buys it on the Xbox One will be able to get the Xbox Series X/S edition at no extra cost. In either case, it's good to see that one of the biggest launches in November will run at 4K and at 60 FPS, giving fans a taste of the power of next-gen consoles.
