HBO's Game of Thrones quite possibly has more villains than any other series out there. The writers of the books and show alike have prided themselves on creating complex and often very hateable characters, giving fans real reason to root for the 'good guys'. If the show even has any. Most characters are actually extremely divisive, their good acts and bad coming in equal measure.

Still, some of them have done things so bad that there's very little reason to root for them at any point of the story. Alhough most characters meet a grisly end in this, many don't get what they deserve.

Roose Bolton

Roose Bolton in Game of Thrones

Roose Bolton is a man known for flaying people alive — the sigil of his house is even a flayed man — as well as committing other unspeakably cruel acts. He's a key planner of the Red Wedding, one of the most horrific scenes in the history of the show that sees Robb Stark and his pregnant wife stabbed to death, as well as Catelyn Stark having her throat slit.

He does die by his son's hand, but the Starks deserved some justice here that they never truly got by their own hand, and that's a shame.

Cersei Lannister

Cersei Lannister does die in the end, but she gets to die with the man she loves after ruling on the Iron Throne for a short time. It's a better end than she might deserve after all she's done to people. Countless people have Cersei to blame for horrible endings, not least of all the Tyrells who are blown up in the sept and die in a horrible blaze of wildfire.

Yes, she does die at the hand of Daenerys Targaryen, but she perhaps deserves an actual trial so people could have justice.

Ramsay Bolton

Ramsay meets Jon Snow before the Battle of the Bastards in Game OF Thrones

Ramsay Bolton, or Ramsay Snow as he's initially known, is perhaps the most hated character in the whole series and he does get the death that he deserves in the end. He's ripped apart by dogs after he's had them do the same to others, and it's a real show of justice.

The lack of deserved consequences comes before that, when he assaults Sansa Sark and many others, and gets away with it time and time again. This man deserved so much to come to him so much sooner.

Joffrey Baratheon

Joffrey also gets what he deserves in the end when he's poisoned but for so long, he goes through the series with such entitlement because no one will ever punish him for his actions. He goes from simply being spoiled and perhaps having the potential to grow up, to actually murdering people with a crossbow — a sign that he has gone too far. For all he does in the series, he actually ends up with a quick death, though it surely leaves his victims craving actual justice in the form of a trial and Joffrey having to face what he's done to people.

Euron Greyjoy

Euron Greyjoy dies at the hands of Jaime Lannister, but it's a relatively unsatisfying death considering what he's done to Asha, Theon, etc., and never having to face up to that.

He's even worse in the books, crewing a ship called The Silence where he cuts out the tongues of his crew members so they can never reveal his secrets. Grim.

Randyll Tarly

Dickon and Randyll Tarly about to be executed on Game of Thrones

Randyll Tarly has a quick execution, but it's Samwell Tarly who deserves to have Randyll face up to what he's done. Although he does die in the hand, it seems he's spent his life bullying a well-intentioned son, and has probably done other incredibly cruel things too. His quick death is actually merciful in comparison to the horrible fates some of the better characters meet.

Stannis Baratheon

Stannis Baratheon Davos Seaworth

Another perhaps undeservedly quick death. Stannis is a divisive character, but the fact of the matter is that he lets his daughter be burned alive and watches as it happens because he's talked into believing it's fate. Stannis deserved to meet the same end as her for this, because what man could stand by and let his daughter die painfully as she screams for help?

Jaime Lannister

Jaime once says he wants to die in the arms of the woman he loves, and he does.

In that sense, he gets his ideal ending, but does he deserve it? Jaime is a man who could have had wonderful redemption, but committed many horrible acts and never actually made up for them in the end. Throwing Bran from the tower, killing countless, only to throw away his potential redemption — yikes. He doesn't deserve his ideal end.

The Night King

The Night King causes the most pain and suffering in the whole series, yet he dies quickly at the hands of Arya Stark.

Ultimately, the Night King could probably never be held trial — he's not even human, after all — but it's not only a pretty easy death for the monster, but incredibly anti-climactic for the audience.

The High Sparrow

The High Sparrow is a man who uses religion to get his own way, entitled and pretty much all-around awful. He dies in a blaze of wildfire at the sept — and is one of the few who deserve to die in this blaze — but the fact still remains he spends a long time going unchecked for abusing his power, when he should meet severe consequences a lot sooner.
