Game of Thrones creators, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, reunite some of the cast in new upcoming Netflix show, Three-Body Problem. Benioff and Weiss shot to global fame as showrunners of the hugely popular HBO epic fantasy series, Game of Thrones, which premiered in the United States in April 2011. The writer-producer duo received critical acclaim for their adaptation of George R. R. Martin's novel series, A Song of Ice And Fire, and, since the show ended in May 2019, the pair have pursued other projects, recently teaming up with Netflix.

Indeed, according to reports from Games Radar, Benioff and Weiss have set a 12-strong cast for their upcoming Netflix show. The cast includes two former Thrones stalwarts, Liam Cunningham, who played Davos Seaworth, and John Bradley, who portrayed Samwell Tarly. The show, Three-Body Problem, is based on the Chinese novel of the same name by Liu Cixin, and is set in the future where humanity must prepare for the arrival of an alien species. The novel won the 2015 Hugo Award, and comes highly acclaimed, so anticipation for the adaptation will be big.

Also joining the cast will be Eliza Gonzalez of Baby Driver fame, Benedict Wong, who appeared in Doctor Strange, and Tsai Chin from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Furthermore, True Blood writer Alexander Woo will join Benioff and Weiss as co-creator, showrunner, and writer. A release date has not been set for the show yet, and there is not a lot of detail about what audiences should expect. However, this show will mark Benioff and Weiss' first stint as showrunners since Game of Thrones ended. As such, there is likely to be a lot of publicity surrounding the series, and fans of the novel (as well as Game of Thrones fans) will be hoping the Three-Body Problem becomes another Netflix success story.
