Game of Thrones Season 7 Finale Images: The Living Must Unite

HBO has released official images from the Game of Thrones season 7 finale, teasing a tense meeting of the minds as Westeros heads to war. While Game of Thrones season 7 has been shorter than the previous six, it's also featured plenty of fast-paced action, time-defying plots, and a few extra-long episodes. In just six installments, Dany has come to Westeros and decimated the Lannisters, the Night King has revealed his true power, and a number of characters have been reintroduced just as others have died.

This coming Sunday, the seventh and final episode of Game of Thrones season 7 (titled 'The Dragon and the Wolf') will air. Considering how many threads have been introduced this season, it's no wonder the show will be expanding the runtime. While there's no telling which plots will come to a head and which will be saved for the final season, the finale will certainly see Dany's and Cersei's forces come face to face and continue the march of the White Walkers south of the Wall. Now, a new set of images teases what will unfold in a few days time.

The first photos from 'The Dragon and the Wolf' are now online, as you can see in the gallery below. While nothing major is revealed here, the focus is put on Jon and Tyrion meeting with Cersei and Jaime in King's Landing. Though the Lannisters have suffered a major blow, Jon and Tyrion will still be entering hostile territory in an effort to carry out their convoluted plan to bring Cersei over to their side. While the penultimate episode of any Game of Thrones season is usually the craziest, expect plenty of surprises in the season 7 finale, too.

These images also highlight Bronn and Bran. The former is in an interesting postion, torn between his loyaties to Tyrion, Jaime, and himself. The latter, meanwhile, is sitting on heaps of important information that he's so far kept to himself. With Jon heading to King's Landing, it looks as if he won't reunite with Bran or Arya this season. As such, there's no telling when Bran will reveal Jon's true parentage or what the remainder of the new Three-Eyed Raven's arc will be this season.

Along with these images, the Game of Thrones season 7 finale trailer offers a glimpse of other returning characters in the episode. After an absence of a few episodes, Grey Worm and the Unsullied will be back, hopefully in time to replace the new absence in Dany's army. We will likely see the the romance between Dany and Jon continue to blossom as well, despite their secret family history. This season probably won't end without a major confrontation between Sansa, Arya, and Littlefinger either, leaving the fate of Winterfell and the Starks in the balance.
