New photos taken from the set of the Game of Thrones prequel series, working title Bloodmoon though an official title hasn't been set, suggest that fans will get to see a new house on the show. HBO initially ordered the prequel series in 2018, nearly a year before the finale aired for the original series. No one knows a lot about the show yet, except that it takes place nearly 5,000 years before the events of Game of Thrones during a time when Westeros was made up of 100 small kingdoms.

Because of its timeline, those Game of Thrones fans who expect to see familiar faces, or at least hear familiar names, are mostly out of luck. Although the Starks and their direwolves will appear, House Lannister, among others, will get left out - at least, at the beginning - because that house did not yet exist during this period of history. However, the Lannisters' home, Casterly Rock, will appear on the show, suggesting that House Casterly, who owned the property first, will turn up in some fashion.

Now that the Game of Thrones prequel series is filming, new set photos have begun to emerge, revealing more information about the show. Recent photos posted from the set by GoTlike Locations show the series shooting at the Grotta del Turco in Italy, which could very well serve as the location for Casterly Rock. Those same photos also reveal a new house sigil that resembles a feline, or more explicitly, a lioness. In Game of Thrones mythology, the first Lord Casterly killed a lioness that attacked his village, but he spared her cubs. This single act pleased the gods, who bestowed great wealth upon the family. It would make sense that the House sigil then would be feline.

Other photos from the set posted by Naomi Watts Source reveal actress Naomi Watts walking down the Grotta del Turco in a dress that is certainly worthy of House Casterly. Her character description of "a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret" also lends itself to her potential as a member of the noble house.

Other actors attached to Game of Thrones prequel series include Miranda Richardson (Harry Potter, Good Omens), Naomi Ackie (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker), Denise Gough (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt), Jamie Campbell Bower (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald), Sheila Atim (Harlots), Ivanno Jeremiah (Black Mirror), Georgie Henley (The Chronicles of Narnia), Alex Sharp (To the Bone) and Toby Regbo (Reign, The Last Kingdom). It's a star-studded affair and one that Game of Thrones fans will want to get behind.

Although fans were generally disappointed with the Game of Thrones series finale, they still have a lot of interest in the types of stories set in that universe. The prequel series will likely reach the same level of wild popularity when it finally airs. With writer George R.R. Martin struggling to release another novel in the related book series, the Game of Thrones prequel could be the only way that fans can get their Westeros fix.
