As the Game of Thrones story continues with House of the Dragon in August, the book's author George R.R. Martin confirmed that a Jon Snow sequel is in development. It allows fans to catch up on Westeros since the series conclusion by focusing on Jon's whereabouts beyond the wall and perhaps addressing Sansa and Bran Stark's reigns.

Although the final season was controversial among fans, the original series about white walkers, dragons, and the fight for the iron throne was a historic television experience that left many on the edge of their seats. Memes about Tyrion's iconic line about drinking and people's hatred for Joffrey Baratheon are some of many that allow fans to reminisce the best of Game of Thrones

Throughout the series, the Stark children are primarily separated, only reconnecting years later in the last couple of seasons. Sansa, Arya, Bran, and Jon (who turns out to actually be their cousin) go through some trials that alter their paths and lives. By the time the four reunite, they've lost their eldest brother Robb and soon lose their youngest brother, Rickon.

Joffrey Baratheon is one of the most hated characters in TV history, as well as in the Game of Thrones series. He starts off as a spoiled prince set on his own desires and selfish needs. As he takes the throne, he becomes a ruthless king, entertained by torture and violence.

This meme depicts Joffrey as the worst of people, and nobody loves Mondays. Most fans were not sorrowful, and many were even excited when Joffrey was poisoned in season 4. His death was a huge milestone in the shift of power.

Peter Dinklage is considered one of the best TV actors, specifically for his iconic role as Tyrion Lannister - known as an ambitious, humorous, and intelligent character. Likewise, Jon Snow is considered one of the fan favorites, with this quote exemplifying his intelligence, "You know nothing, Jon Snow."

This meme perfectly collides two of the most well-known aspects of these two characters, with Tyrion being a knowledgeable advisor and Jon often seeming lost and unsure about his next steps.

Wedding memes are not uncommon for this series, especially considering there are several of them throughout. Cersei Lannister was devastated and enraged when her son was poisoned, seeking out everyone she thought might have had a hand in his demise. Fans learn in season 7 when the Lannisters gain control of Highgarden that Lady Olenna Tyrell, who acted shocked at the moment, was the one that plotted the young king's murder.

Dozens of memes have honored the shocking and thrilling admission from the lady.  The meme with SNL's Stefon best captures how Olenna kept her involvement a secret before revealing it to Jaime Lannister. Her quote, "Tell Cersei, I want her to know it was me," said before she drank poison to end her own life, is one of the most iconic in the series.

Daenerys Targaryen and Arya Stark are considered two of the most intricate, plotting characters in the series. This meme remarks on the polarity regarding their names, with Arya being "no one" to a Targaryen having too many. Intriguingly, it also plays a major part in their storylines.

Arya goes on a dangerous adventure into self-discovery, training with the Faceless Man which leads to her "a girl has no name" storyline until she decides to regain her title. Daenerys continues to build her reputation throughout the series, eventually gaining the lengthy title "Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Protector of the Seven Kingdoms, the Mother of Dragons, the Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, the Unburnt, the Breaker of Chains."

While there is a lot of filler content in Game of Thrones, the disturbing and memorable relationship between Cersei and her twin brother Jamie sticks to the plot throughout the series.

This meme references Cersei's possessiveness of her lover-brother and her discomfort with him being in relationships with other women. Though Cersei does have a couple of lovers later on in the series, Jamie's brief affair with Brienne of Tarth doesn't stop him from running back to the woman he shared a womb with. Despite how disturbing the relationship was, these two characters end as lovers set to die together.

This meme refers to one of the most shocking turns of events. When Arya attacks the Night King, who grabs her, she drops her dagger into her free hand and stabs him. While it almost felt too easy of an ending, Arya had proven she was skillful and conniving in a fight. This meme also holds up since Arya had a list of people she wanted dead, and while she may have been past that point by this time, the Night King likely would have made it on there.
