The highly-successful HBO show Game of Thrones may already be over but its cultural impact and popularity among fans won't disappear anytime soon. The show captured the audience's attention not only by telling a tension and danger-filled story but also by introducing many intriguing characters, both heroes and villains.

Two of the most prominent and fan-favorite heroes were Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow, who also became a couple at one point in the show. Their relationship didn't work out but that doesn't mean Jon and Daenerys were mismatched - there are, in fact, multiple reasons why Daenerys was perfect for Jon. But there are also other people he could have been with.

At first, Jon and Daenerys had a somewhat tumultuous relationship. That was caused by the fact that Jon kept refusing to bend the knee and acknowledge Daenerys as his queen.

However, he eventually did just that as he and Daenerys grew closer and seemed quite satisfied to serve his queen any way he could. Not every man would be able to do to that but Jon pushed his pride aside for the woman he respected.

Other Characters: Margaery Tyrell

Margaery Tyrell Game Of Thrones

Margaery Tyrell was one of the strongest heroines of the show, and that's saying a lot. Margaery was married three times but Jon could have been the perfect husband number four for her.

Not only was she a good friend to Sansa, but Margaery also knew how to manipulate people to her favor, and she could have helped Jon a lot if she became his Queen in the North. What's more, the marriage between these two would make an important alliance between two powerful houses.

Daenerys Was Perfect For Jon: Her Dragons Liked Him

Daenerys's dragons aren't the friendliest creatures in the world. They can easily turn deadly and kill hundreds of people if Daenerys decides to do so.

After all, they obey her wishes since she's their mother. But Jon seemed to have gotten along just fine with the dragons, which is more than can be said about a lot of people. Perhaps they somehow were able to recognize the Targaryen blood in him or they saw the bond between Jon and Daenerys. But whatever the reason was, Jon was worthy in the dragons' eyes.

Other Characters: Lyanna Mormont

Lyanna Mormont's Return Confirmed For Game of Thrones Season 7

Yes, it's true that Lyanna Mormont is a bit too young for Jon but the age difference between them still wouldn't come as shocking to the nations of Westeros (take the age difference between Tyrion and Sansa into consideration, for example).

Lyanna has many traits Jon likes in women - she's wise, outspoken, independent, and willing to fight and die for what she believes in. Plus, they're both Northerners and this binds them together even more.

Daenerys Was Perfect For Jon: They're Both Leaders

There are many important differences between Jon and Daenerys but one thing they have in common is that they're natural-born leaders.

Ironically, it took Jon joining the Night's Watch to discover this side of him but once he did, he seemed to have thrived at joining people together under a mutual goal. And Daenerys managed to gain the love and loyalty of her followers as well.

Other Characters: Myrcella Baratheon

Myrcella

It's doubtful whether Cersei would have agreed with this match, considering her less than warm relationship with the Starks, but had she known the truth about Jon's heritage, she might have at least considered it. Unlike her mother, Myrcella was a sweet and kind girl who just wanted love.

She and Jon could have been a good match. Even if there wasn't real love between them, they still would have respected one another, and that also counts for something.

Daenerys Was Perfect For Jon: Their Personalities Complement

As mentioned above, Daenerys and Jon were quite different in many things but still similar enough to be able to come to an agreement - and fall for one another. Their personalities complemented each other well.

They made each other lighter and more relaxed, and Jon might have been able to diminish Daenerys's destructive tendencies if they hadn't split up.

Other Characters: Sansa Stark

Sansa and Jon didn't always get along but when they grew up, their relationship changed. And even though they were originally considered siblings, they turned out to be cousins - and marriage between cousins was nothing shocking in the world of Westeros.

Jon and Sansa might work as a couple since Jon wouldn't pressure her after all the horrors with Ramsey she'd been through, and they could rule the North together as it's the place they know the best.

Daenerys Was Perfect For Jon: The Ultimate Power Couple

Considering their heritage and their right to the throne, Daenerys and Jon could have easily become the ultimate power couple of the entire Westeros (and beyond).

That, however, didn't come to pass since Jon has pulled himself away from Daenerys once he discovered the truth about his parents and realized that Daenerys was his aunt. But had they stayed together, they could have achieved a lot.

Other Characters: Ygritte

Of course, the first place can't go to anyone other than Ygritte, the Wildling. Ygritte was Jon's first true love and she could have remained so if she hadn't been killed.

Ygritte was fearless, free-spirited, passionate, and open about what she wanted which was exactly what Jon needed at the time. She opened his eyes and persuaded him that the Wildlings were barbarians like he thought, but just people who wanted freedom for themselves.
