Game of Thrones star Kit Harington details a time a member of the British royal family was pressing him for spoilers regarding Jon Snow's fate. Based on the acclaimed fantasy novels by author George R.R. Martin, HBO's Game of Thrones first premiered on the network in 2011, running for eight seasons before coming to an end in 2019. Harrington played Snow, a member of the Night's Watch who finds out he's actually the rightful heir to the Iron Throne.

In a recent interview on The Late Late Show With James Corden, Harington recalls an occasion in which Queen Consort Camilla tried to uncover some Game of Thrones spoilers during a luncheon. The incident took place shortly after the season 5 finale in which Snow is seemingly stabbed to death, and Camilla was apparently quite keen on finding out whether he would survive or not. Check out Harington's full recollection of events below, or watch the interview segment (his comments start at around 1:20):

“I got invited to the Royal Box at Wimbledon. They have this luncheon beforehand and I just thought we’d go in and grab a buffet or something. We got sat with Camilla and Kate Middleton’s parents, it was like the high table.

"I couldn’t work out why we were there. It was the off-season, there was a cliffhanger in Game of Thrones where I died. I sat next to Camilla and she said, ‘So, are you actually dead?’ I said, ‘Well, there’s certain things Royals can’t even know.’ I realized I was just there for spoilers.”

What's Next For Jon Snow After Game Of Thrones?

Jon Snow heading Beyond the Wall in Game of Thrones finale

For a time, Game of Thrones was one of the biggest shows on television, earning great reviews and boasting some impressive viewership numbers (despite a largely disappointing finale). Considering the massive cultural impact of the show, HBO understandably sought to expand the world through spinoffs. House of the Dragon, a spinoff chronicling the Targaryen civil war hundreds of years before Game of Thrones, premiered last summer, but Snow is set to get his own spinoff as well.

It was announced last June that a new show focusing on Harington's character was in early development under the working title Snow. While almost no details are known regarding the announced Game of Thrones spinoff, it's assumed to take place after the events of the finale in which Snow leaves Westeros and journeys North of the Wall to live with the Wildlings. Harington himself is said to have brought the idea for the spinoff to Martin and HBO, along with his very own creative team.

Few concrete details have emerged since the initial announcement last year, but HBO has been understandably careful regarding what Game of Thrones spinoffs actually move forward. In fact, there have been as many as six spinoff shows in development at various times in the past few years but, so far, only House of the Dragon has managed to actually come to fruition. It remains to be seen if and when Harington's hero will return to TV screens, but the character's ending in Game of Thrones certainly left the door wide open for further adventures.
