'Game of Thrones' Season 5 Character Portraits Released

As of today, we have only one month to wait until Game of Thrones season 5 premieres. For some fans that may seem a lifetime away, but these four weeks will surely fly by filled with teasers, photos, and whatever more promotional material HBO throws our way.

Spearheading this recent influx of Game of Thrones bits and bobs is the latest issue of EW, having already revealed its four covers featuring Arya (Maisie Williams), Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), and Tyrion (Peter Dinklage). The GoT issue of EW will also include interviews with the cast and crew, which have again already been teased online in short snippets and quotes.

Until fans can get their hands on the rest of the details ahead of the show's fifth season, a few more glimpses of that most well-known cast members have been shared ahead of release. Below you'll find extra photos of Arya Stark's brand new look, a more battle-hardened Jon Snow, and a well-bearded Tyrion Lannister (as well as a few amusing outakes).

The images drive home the point that since Ned Stark left the picture back in season 1, there hasn't necessarily been a member of any of the show's families who could be considered the "main character." That isn't to say the series has been lacking for strong, captivating performances, but even when such a performance is rewarded - as Dinklage was with a Golden Globe - it's always in a supporting role.

But these four characters - Arya, Jon, Daenerys, and Tyrion - look to be staking a claim on that "main character" spot this season. Game of Thrones will always be an ensemble show, but five seasons in and it's becoming all the more apparent who the series' main players really are - those who've survived this long!

Does this mean one of these four will die in season 5? Or are we looking at the four characters most likely to survive until the end (and perhaps sit upon the Iron Throne)? Sound off in the comments below, but as always, be wary of spoilers.

Game of Thrones season 5 premieres on HBO on April 12th, 2015.
