House of the Dragon is reaching its season finale and overall, the series has won the praise of critics and viewers around the world. Hopefully, the history of the powerful House Targaryen will continue its qualitative storyline and production, and redeem Westeros from Game of Thrones' catastrophic finale.

Game of Thrones premiered in 2011 and became one of the most successful TV series of all time, and in spite of its terrible ending, nobody can deny that it introduced many unforgettable characters. Amongst them, is Hodor, who regardless of saying very little, his character's destiny became one of the most shocking arcs of the series. The gentle giant won the heart of every Game of Thrones fan and he can be summed up with hilarious memes.

One Dialogue For Everything

As it is known, the once stableboy of Winterfell could only say one word: Hodor. He used it to express everything, and as the meme points out, it didn't matter if it was something serious or something funny, or if he was in a bad or good mood, he would always use the same word.

His language impairment made everyone in Winterfell change his name to Hodor, although as hard-core fans remember, his real name was Wylis. He only said one word, but he was able to make everyone smile with it, just like he does in the meme's picture.

One Life Purpose

Hodor wasn't particularly excited to meet his deathly destiny, but it is funny to think that he was. After seeing his death, it's probable that he was more terrified of getting closer to that day than excited about finally getting to fulfill his one life purpose.

Hodor is one of the most compelling supporting characters in TV and it is not only because of his extraordinary story arc but because in spite of being horrified by his own death he faced it like a true hero.

One Job

Unlike many other real-life people and Game of Thrones characters that had one job and weren't able to complete it, Hodor had one purpose in his life, and as the meme points out, he did it. Brilliantly, to say the least.

His death was one of the saddest moments in the series, however, most fans couldn't help feeling touched by his brave and loving sacrifice to save the boy he loved the most. Therefore, instead of funny memes, many did wholesome ones that honored his deed, like the one shown.

He Hodored

Julius Caesar once said "I came, I saw, I conquered" and considering Hodor came to the Three-Eyed Raven's cave, saw the horde of wights chasing him, and conquered the door, or "hodored" it, the phrase is perfectly applicable to his character.

Given his memorable act of heroism and endearing personality, Kristian Nairn (Hodor) will probably be one of the actors who will always be associated with one TV role. Which is not a bad thing at all if he portrayed a character as loved as Hodor.

Bran's Protector

Hodor only knew how to say his name, therefore any meme that uses another unexpected dialogue that could never come from him is funny enough, but using a phrase that makes reference to his favorite Stark kid makes it all more hilarious.

There are no famous brands of cereal in Westeros, but if there were, there is no doubt that Hodor would prefer the one that sums up his relationship with Bran Stark. Like the cereal says, he practically raised Bran. It is a shame the writers of the series were not able to conclude Bran's arc in a satisfactory way and that the finale made Hodor's raising of Bran seem like one of the most unnecessary heroic sacrifices in TV shows.

Nobody Gets Him

The original template of this meme quotes Joaquin Phoenix's Joker "You wouldn't get it" and as this meme hilariously depicts, nobody got why Hodor said his name all the time.

Bran and Osha did all they could to try to communicate with the giant or try to get him to say anything else, but not only until Hodor's death was Bran able to understand what he had been saying all that time. Needless to say, it was devastating for him.

He Could Be Friends With Other Iconic Characters

Hodor is not the only character in fiction that can only say one thing to express all his thoughts and feelings. Characters like Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy, Chewbacca from Star Wars, or any Pokemon, use just one phrase to communicate with others.

Although the hilarious meme points out that Groot, Chewbacca, and Hodor would have the best conversation ever, is highly doubtful that an ambitious cross-over would deliver any coherent conversation at all.

Hodor Opened Up The Possibility Of Other Forms Of Communication

Nobody expected Hodor to be a slurred word for "Hold the door". Consequently, as soon as the episode that revealed the name's meaning came out, many started to question what other people or beings were expressing in the same way Hodor did.

Who knows, as the meme hilariously shows, it may be possible that other animals from Earth are communicating by joining different words together and making a new word, and thanks to Hodor's language, now every possibility is on the table.

Hodor, The Ant

The ant shown in the meme is called a Turtle Ant, and not all of them have huge heads to block the entrance of their nest, but the ones that do are pretty much Hodors. Their only purpose is to protect their nest, which, is not as lame as the meme hilariously makes it seem.

After all, the Turtle Ants protect the lives of thousands of other ants that live within the colony, and without them, they could easily get killed by other animals. Hodor saved Bran because he loved him, but also because he would have a crucial role against the White Walkers. Or at least that's what everyone thought before the season finale.
