The Game Awards 2022, just like in previous years, was a fitting way for gamers to celebrate the end of the year with new teasers and trailers; but some of the most exciting content comes from games that have been revealed ahead of time. Naturally, there was no shortage of announcements this year, giving viewers a hint of what they can expect to see released in the coming months and updates on other, highly anticipated games.

With the Game Awards 2022 returning to the public after being held virtually for two years, Geoff Keighley didn't disappoint. Among other reveals, Judas, a new title from Ghost Story Studios, looks to be another immersive, stylized first-person experience, which will likely rival that of the beloved BioShock series, and Death Stranding 2, which comes from the mind of the legendary Hideo Kojima, will bring players back into the dystopian world they have come to enjoy. But other games, which were already revealed prior to The Game Awards, are just as promising - if not more so.

The Game Awards 2022 Showed Off New Trailers For FF16 & Jedi: Survivor

A shot from Final Fantasy 16's trailer, revealed at the Game Awards 2022.

Fans of the colossally popular Star Wars series have been waiting for the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Luckily, The Game Awards offered a first glance at the action-adventure title, the trailer for which featured stunning graphics and intensive, dynamic combat. Although prior to the event, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's release date was leaked, Respawn confirmed fans' suspicions and announced that the game is set to release on March 17. Thus, fans won't have to wait long before exploring the Star Wars galaxy with Cal once again, five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Those who enjoy role-playing games are in for a treat in June 2023, with the next installments of two fan-favorite series releasing just weeks apart. On June 6, players will be free to traverse the haunting, open world of the Sanctuary in Diablo 4, which will be much darker than previous Diablo games (and the trailer confirms just that). Just over two weeks later, Final Fantasy 16 will release on June 22. The premiere was nothing short of spectacular, with a massive upgrade in graphics, breathtaking world design, and multiple playable characters shown in FF16. Both games are available for pre-order now.

Cyberpunk 2077 DLC & Armored Core 6 Look Promising At TGA

Idris Elba as Solomon Reed in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty

Some games featured in The Game Awards 2022 didn't receive a definitive release date, but instead provided viewers with an exclusive peek at what's to come. A new trailer for Cyberpunk 2077's DLC, Phantom Liberty, showcased high-octane gameplay inside the New United States, and debuted a surprise new character Solomon Reed, portrayed by Idris Elba. Likewise, FromSoftware's newest announcement, Armored Core 6: Fires Of Rubicon, will also be released in 2023, and while some may have been expecting a Dark Souls-like game from the studio, Armored Core 6 can learn from Elden Ring as FromSoftware makes a return to their roots in the long-awaited mecha shooter title.

The Game Awards 2022 was a satisfying send-off to the year. Although the award winners weren't exactly shocking - with Elden Ring and God Of War: Ragnarok both going home with multiple trophies to their name, it was the insight into 2023 that was the most exciting. Players from all genres should have something to look forward to in the next year, especially with more details about the above titles revealed at The Game Awards 2022.
