After weeks of anticipation and rumors, The Game Awards 2021 has finally arrived. The Geoff Keighley-hosted event has seen a massive surge in popularity over the years, and has become a premier destination for big trailer and gameplay reveals. For those unable to watch the livestream, or are simply interested in just a rundown of the awards, below is a list of every winner announced at The Game Awards 2021.

More than two dozen awards will be given out over the course of the event, with trailers and world premieres sprinkled throughout. Even before the show started an award was given out, with Halo Infinite winning the Player's Voice Award this year - the only category it was eligible because of its extremely recent release date. The most coveted award, however, is Game of the Year, which went to The Last of Us Part II last year. Game of the Year 2021 has six nominees - DeathloopIt Takes TwoMetroid DreadPsychonauts 2Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Resident Evil Village.

More than anything, though, The Game Awards is a celebration of games, both from this past year and those yet to release. Most of the big names will be present, but other important awards spotlight all corners of the industry, such as Best Indie Debut and Best eSports Coach. A major part of such a celebration is, of course, a plethora of new game trailers and footage. Keighley hinted that The Game Awards will feature 40+ games this year, and the excitement has been palpable with huge titles like Breath of the Wild's sequel, God of War: Ragnarok, and Starfield potentially getting some screen time.

The top prize was given to It Takes Two, which also won Best Family Game and Best Multiplayer Game. Played entirely in co-op, It Takes Two is a lesson in teamwork, patience, and relationships. It tells the heartfelt, gut-wrenching story of a marriage on the verge of collapse, and plays out like a therapeutic session of fantastical and wildly varied gameplay. Wonderful art design, memorable voice acting, and an incredibly fun experience throughout helped It Takes Two secure The Game Awards 2021's Game of the Year honors.
