In an awesome cosplay, @anatylacosplay shows off her stunning take on the Gambit that takes the character in a different direction. In the Marvel Universe and comics, the card-slinging hero has managed to become a fan-favorite despite not being an original part of the core two big X-Men teams. However, his cool powers, personality, and appearance in Marvel's X-Men: The Animated Series have gained him quite the following, including being one of the most cosplayed mutants.

Gambit, whose real name is Remy LeBeau, was among the X-Men to debut during Chris Claremont and Jim Lee's iconic run on the popular Marvel Comics superteam. The hero is known for his ability to generate and manipulate kinetic energy, which he often channels through playing cards which he uses as his primary offensive attack. The Cajun sweet-talker is often paired up romantically with the X-Men Rogue, as they have starred in their own miniseries together. Gambit's popularity rose when he was one of the X-Men featured on the X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon, which is set to return on Disney+ in 2023.

On her Instagram account, @anatylacosplay brought back her cosplay of Gambit, which is a gender-flipped take on the popular X-Men hero. The look features Gambit's iconic long trenchcoat, black headpiece, partly fingerless gloves, and black tights. The cosplay trades in Gambit's usual armored breastplate for a crop top, while the ensemble is accented with an X-Men belt and pink details throughout. Check out @anatylacosplay's transformation into Gambit in the cosplay video below.

@anatylacosplay previously showcased the look on her Instagram page a while back before bringing it back last week. In one of her previous photos, the costume can be seen in action as she wields Gambit's bo-staff as she's ready to unleash a kinetic energy attack against an unlucky foe. The gender-flipped cosplay does the X-Men hero justice as it's a great, new take on Gambit.

It's a shame that Channing Tatum's Gambit solo movie was canceled, as fans of the X-Men have been clamoring to see the hero in live-action since his only appearance in the critically maligned X-Men Origins: Wolverine. It wouldn't be surprising at all if Gambit is one of the mutants chosen to usher in the MCU's upcoming version of the X-Men as the hero is ready for live-action redemption. Until that happens, Marvel Comics fans can enjoy the incredible gender-flipped Gambit cosplay from @anatylacosplay.
