Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S23 Ultra has been listed on a Chinese regulator's database, revealing some of its vital tech specs. The device is expected to launch early next year. While a leak from late October suggested that the Galaxy S23 series could be up for pre-order as early as Dec. 23, newer reports say that the next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place in the first week of February. Samsung is expected to announce the new Galaxy S-series and some new tablets.

Over the past few months, multiple leaks have already revealed many of the Galaxy S23 Ultra's key tech specs, and the latest report confirms most of them. Like its predecessors, the Galaxy S23 series will likely feature three devices — the S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra. The Ultra will be the most expensive of the lot, offering top-of-the-line hardware and a built-in stylus. It is also likely to be a massive device and continue to be the Galaxy Note series replacement.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has been listed on the website of the Chinese electronics regulator TENAA, revealing many of its key specifications. The listed device (model number SM-S9180) features a 6.8-inch QHD+ (3,088 × 1,440) display and is powered by an octa-core processor with three CPU clusters. While one has a maximum clock speed of up to 3.36GHz, the other run at 2.8GHz and 2GHz. The listing doesn't reveal the exact identity of the processor, but multiple reports say that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC will power it. In addition, a report from last month suggested that the device will have a 'special edition' Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with a 3.36GHz CPU and 719MHz CPU.

The listing also confirms that the device will ship with a 4,855mAh battery which will likely be rated for a 5,000mAh typical capacity. The phone will be almost identical to the Galaxy S22 Ultra with dimensions of 163.4 x 78.1 x 8.9mm, and weighing 233 grams. Other possible hardware includes 8GB or 12GB of RAM, with 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB of built-in storage. The leaked storage spec suggests that the Galaxy S23 Ultra will double the storage available with the base model of its predecessor. Cellular connectivity options on the device will include 4G LTE and 5G (SA and NSA) on multiple bands.

Finally, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is listed with a quad-cam setup that includes a 108MP primary camera, a couple of 12MP shooters, and a 2MP sensor. That is a surprising change since most rumors this year suggested that the Galaxy S23 Ultra could sport a 200MP sensor, aided by a 10MP periscope telephoto camera with 10X zoom, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide shooter. Given the discrepancy in the TENAA listing and previous leaks, it will be interesting to see which one is correct and what the Galaxy S23 Ultra camera setup comes with.
