Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds, makes an appearance in Marvel Snap as an Ultra Rare card found in the elusive Pool 5 group, featuring a destructive ability befitting the intergalactic destroyer that gives players opportunities to build exciting deck compositions and strategies. Costing 6 Energy to play and sporting 3 Base Power, Galactus has an On Reveal Ability that activates when he is the only card at a Location that destroys the other two Locations entirely. Dismantling every card played at those other spots, Galactus instantly turns the tables, creating a last-ditch gambit for players to steal a game through deceptive placement.

The base idea around Galactus carries significant risk, as players essentially throw their eggs into one basket at a single Location, but making Galactus cost less Energy, having cards give more Energy to spend during a turn, disrupting the Power of opponents at Galactus' location, and utilizing an alternative anchor are strategies that mitigate the pitfall of trying to play Galactus on the last turn without any support at his Location. Additionally, characters such as Psylocke, Electro, Mr. Negative, Sera, Wave, Spider-Man, Green Goblin, Hobgoblin, and even higher cost cards like Death and The Infinaut all contribute to supporting Galactus after he has been played, making him one of the best cards in Marvel Snap if used correctly.

Have More Energy to Spend with Electro and Psylocke

Although certain Locations can reduce card costs and give players more Energy to spend, often, the most significant struggle comes from not having enough Energy to execute a plan. For example, Electro, a 3 Energy 2 Power card, has an On Reveal effect that gives players +1 maximum Energy but only allows them to play one card each turn. When players run Galactus in their decks, this does not pose any issues. The main goal involves playing that card alone, preferably before the game's final turn, where it becomes impossible to give Galactus' Location any additional power before the match's conclusion.

If players use Galactus at one of Marvel Snap's many Locations that reduce Power, it is all the more important to have more cards to play through extra Energy. For example, the 2 Energy 1 Power Psylocke gives the player +1 Energy the next turn due to the On Reveal ability that activates. Players with Galactus in hand might need this boost in Energy to have more room against counters their opponent might spring toward the final turns of the match. While other cards, including Daredevil, assist players when anticipating their rival's next move, having more Energy guarantees more options than what was initially available.

Make Galactus Cost Less with Mr. Negative, Sera, and Wave

As mentioned before, playing Galactus on the final turn does not give players the best chance to win the final Location and level up swiftly in Marvel Snap. Inducing Galactus' ability before the sixth round can be done through cards like Mr. Negative, a 4 Energy -1 Power character that swaps the Energy and Power of all cards in the player's deck On Reveal, potentially turning Galactus into a 3 Energy 6 Power. Therefore, players could play Galactus at a desired unoccupied Location far earlier than usual, thus setting up their endgame through the impending destruction.

Sera and Wave, which are 5 Energy 5 Power and 3 Energy 3 Power cards, respectively, contribute to this plan by adjusting the Energy values of the player's cards. Wave perhaps has the more universal ability, changing the cost of both players' cards in their hands to 4 Energy exactly the next turn after its On Reveal effect takes place. In addition, Sera has an Ongoing effect that reduces the Energy cost of cards in hand by 1, allowing more cards in Marvel Snap to be played. Combined, Wave and Sera could theoretically turn Galactus into a 4 or 5 Energy cost card, allowing players to control their Power at the Location hosting the cosmic entity.

Disrupt the Opponent with Green Goblin, Hobgoblin, and Spider-Man

A great challenge with On Reveal cards comes from enemy players anticipating the reliance on those effects and playing cards such as Cosmo to counter them. Players looking to use Galactus smoothly should consider adding Spider-Man to their deck. This 4 Energy 3 Power card prevents the opponent from playing cards at the same Location the following turn. If this trait can be activated during turn 5, the opponent cannot play cards at the final Location after Galactus clears the other two. Players that prepare accordingly when deckbuilding in Marvel Snap for this combo has a high probability of stealing cubes away at the last moment, which can be highly satisfying.

In the same vein, Hobgoblin and Green Goblin share the same On Reveal ability through 5 Energy -8 Power and 3 Energy -3 Power cards that travel to their opponent's side of the Location to reduce their overall Power. Despite being slightly tricky to set up, and sometimes even detrimental to the player if their opponent fills their side of the Location before the Goblin ability can trigger, the disruptive strength of both Hobgoblin and Green Goblin ushers in Galactus with even more intent. In a few cases, one of these two cards might be the fourth and final character for the Location, locking players from completing a strategy with anchors like America Chavez or Apocalypse in Marvel Snap.

Have an Alternate Anchor with Galactus

Unfortunately, Galactus' lack of Power does not ensure a victory through the last Location, encouraging players to have a backup anchor should they play Galactus earlier through the effects of previously mentioned cards. Death, a 6 Energy 12 Power card, certainly fulfills this role, as she costs 1 Energy less for each card destroyed during the game. Since Galactus destroys every card at the other two Locations from where he was played, Death may easily cost 0 Energy by the final turn, giving players an immediate chance to snag a considerable Power value. Combined with hand destruction cards in Marvel Snap, such as Killmonger, Carnage, or Deathlock, Death capitalizes off the planned clear players induce.

Other brilliant anchors that players might have success with are The Infinaut, a 6 Energy 20 Power card that may only be played if no other cards were placed the previous turn. Sporting the highest base Power of any card in Marvel Snap, The Infinaut meshes well with Galactus and the 1 Energy 1 Power Sunspot, which converts unused Energy every turn into additional Power. America Chavez and her 6 Energy 9 Power characteristics are always drawn by the player on the final turn, giving Galactus support similarly. Players looking to use the right cards and strategies with Galactus need to be prepared for the conditions that card creates, enforcing an unorthodox situation in Marvel Snap with one of the most striking abilities in the game.
