Future Man Season 2 Full Trailer: Seth Rogen Is A Man Named Susan

Derek Wilson Josh Hutcherson and Eliza Coupe Future Man season 2

There are plenty of changes ahead in season 2 of Hulu’s puerile comedy Future Man, and the new trailer makes sure to introduce as many of them as it can. Building off the events of the season 1 finale, the hapless Josh Futterman (Josh Hutcherson), along with time-traveling warriors Tiger (Eliza Coupe) and Wolf (Derek Wilson), must contend with a bizarre, dystopian future world that is the direct result of their interference with the time stream. That interference was done in an effort to prevent the spread of a deadly virus resulting in yet another possible apocalyptic scenario.

Now, while the trio becomes acclimated to the world of 2162, Future Man gets to take its new setting for a wild spin, one that runs a gamut of science fiction tropes, albeit with a comedic spin. There’s a hint of everything from Mad Max to Logan’s Run in the new season, especially with regard to the surprising events that have turned Wolf into something of a family man. Tiger, meanwhile, gets a nasty surprise in the form of Dr. Stu Camillo’s (Haley Joel Osment) supposed daughter. Together, it looks as though the unlikely trio will have to work together to undo yet another terrible future, this time, however, they’ll have to survive it first.

This is the second trailer for the new season, coming on the heels of a surprisingly in-depth teaser. Surprisingly, although this full trailer offers up a great many more details, it manages to steer clear of possible spoilers, focusing instead on the apparent fun that’s waiting to be had in this messed up version of the future.

The new season also offers a role to series executive producer and sometimes director, Seth Rogen, who was glimpsed earlier in the teaser trailer. There’s a bit more information to go on here (his name’s Susan), but for the most part, Rogen’s role, and the extent to which he’ll actually play a part in season 2 still remains to be seen.

In all, Future Man season 2 looks to be an altogether more ambitious project for everyone involved. That seems true for both the comedy and the bonkers, time-traveling narrative that could result in any number of bizarre permutations should the series continue on for a third season and beyond.
