Horror movies pretty much revolve around death. Most of the time, these death scenes are meant to be sudden, scary, or intense. However, sometimes a death scene in a horror movie is just downright hilarious and you can’t help but burst out in laughter.

In some cases, you were supposed to laugh, while others were just unintentionally hilarious due to certain things like the acting and special effects. The following entries are one or the other. These death scenes immediately had us laughing our butts off as some poor soul (or souls) gets killed in hilarious ways. Here are the ten most hilarious horror movie deaths.

Friday The 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan - Julius

Vincent Craig Dupree in Friday the 13th Part 8 Jason Takes Manhattan

The Friday The 13th franchise is full of sudden and over-the-top death scenes that Jason carries out on unsuspecting teens. While the hand-stand kill in Part III deserves a mention, it’s Julius’s kill in Jason Takes Manhattan that takes the win for Jason’s funniest kill. In one of the few scenes that actually took place in Manhattan, Julius finds himself on a rooftop with Jason.

Being the great boxer that he is, Julius continually punches Jason in an exhaustingly long scene. As Julius grows tired, Jason remains unphased. After so long, Julius asks Jason to give him his best shot. After one swift punch, Jason knocks off Julius’s head as if he was playing T-Ball.

Deadly Friend - Elvira

Kristy Swanson in Deadly Friend

One of Wes Craven’s lesser-known films, Deadly Friend tells the tale of Samantha, a woman brought back to life via a microchip. Needless to say, things go wrong very quickly and she turns into an unstoppable killing machine.

Deadly Friend is mainly remembered for the hilarious scene where Samantha throws a basketball at the grumpy Elvira’s face. The way she just screams is so over-the-top and then her head is just obliterated in a gory fashion. Not sure basketballs are that powerful but this is a horror movie after all. Fun fact, the fake head was filled with actual cow brains that the crew got from a butcher shop.

Ready Or Not - The Entire Le Domas' Family

Ready or Not Shotgun Bandolier

Ready Or Not came out this year, and it’s already a horror classic. Throughout the film, the audience (and even other characters) is questioning how legit this “deal with the Devil” really is. After the Le Domas family fails to kill Grace before dawn, they immediately freak out.

Except, nothing happens for a few seconds, and it’s made to look like the entire Mr. Le Bail was just a hoax. Fortunately, the deal was all too real as seconds later, the entire Le Domas family starts blowing up one by one into bloody chunks. The best shot is Grace laughing hysterically. It’s an unexpected but perfectly entertaining way to end this dark horror-comedy.

Deep Blue Sea - Russell Franklin

If this was just any other actor/actress, this scene may have been completely forgotten. Instead, it lives on in horror movie history as the time where Samuel L Jackson (who plays Russell) gets eaten by a shark.

In typical Samuel L Jackson form, Russell is giving a loud and intense speech on how they’re going to escape. Before the audience realizes what’s happening, a large shark suddenly comes up from behind and chomps down on Russell. The CGI is especially terrible, which makes this moment even more amusing. This scene alone makes this 90s monster-flick worth watching.

The Cabin In The Woods - All The Stockholm Security Guards

The Cabin In The Woods is a mix of horror and comedy that pokes fun at the generic horror movie tropes. The first two acts of the film are intriguing but still a little slow. However, all of that pays off by the third act and it culminates into what is the best horror scene of the decade.

For some odd reason, there was a button created in the Stockholm Facility that will unleash every single monster, killer, creature, ghost, and just about any other horror villain you can think of. Unfortunately for the security guards, they were right next to the elevators when all hell broke loose. It’s so ridiculous, and it had audiences cheering and laughing all at the same time.

Child’s Play (2019) - Shane

Childs Play 2019 Rototiller

Ugh, Shane! Everyone hated Shane the minute he was on screen. Therefore, it was a delight that he would be Chucky’s first victim in this remake of the 80s classic. Being the best buddy ever, Chucky takes upon himself to rid of Andy of Shane permanently.

After a gruesome fall from his house, Shane is attacked by a knife-wielding Chucky. Right before Chucky stabs him, there’s a hilarious call back to an earlier scene where Chucky utters, “This is for Tupac.” It definitely went with the tone that this remake was trying to capture, and it’s made all the better by Mark Hamill’s excellent vocal performance.

Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones - Random Witches

Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones is regarded as a fan-favorite among the franchise for just being so darn entertaining from start to finish. Just like the first four films, the final fact is where things kick up a notch.

After Jesse was seemingly kidnapped, Hector and Marisol enlist the help of Oscar’s brother Arturo and his friend Santo for a rescue. Hector and Santo ensured that they came prepared, though. Seeing a couple of witches just get blown away with shotguns is funny because of how absurd it felt within this franchise that relied more on mood and atmosphere.

Tucker And Dale vs Evil - Mike

Tucker and Dale standing on their porch

The plot of Tucker And Dale vs Evil is essentially just a giant misunderstanding where a group of college students mistakes two hillbilly men for backwoods serial killers (as the usual formula goes). Turns out, Tucker And Dale are two loveable friends who just wanted to enjoy a nice guys weekend fishing and drinking.

Most of the college students end up killing themselves accidentally, making Tucker and Dale look even more guilty. The best death comes in the form of Mike, who tries to sneak up on Tucker, who’s next to a wood chipper. As one would expect, Mike falls right into the wood chipper and a scene of perfect black comedy ensues.

Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 - Random Neighbor

Ricky pointing a gun and smiling in Silent Night Deadly Night 2

This scene is the only reason this atrocious excuse for a film is even remembered. Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 is a lazy attempt at a sequel as it literally uses almost thirty minutes of its runtime with footage from the first film. Still, if it wasn’t for this sequel, there would never get this awfully hilarious movie moment.

Main character Ricky Caldwell decides to go on a suburban killing spree, murdering random civilians. The best one is from a poor unsuspecting man who was just taking out his trash. Right before he shoots him, Ricky utters the infamous quote, "Garbage Day!” It’s his exaggerated delivery and his terrible evil laugh that adds a cherry on top.

Troll 2 - Woman Turned Into Plants

Troll 2 Oh My God scene

Troll 2 is known as the best/worst movie ever, meaning that it is so bad that it’s good. That’s not far from the truth as this awful movie is just so much fun to watch. Now this movie moment isn’t hilarious because of the actual death. Rather, it’s the reaction of the character named Arnold and his “Oscar-worthy” acting.

As a random woman is suddenly being turned into plants and then eaten by goblins (there’s not a single troll in this movie), Arnold has the most emotionless reaction ever. Then he gives the notorious line, “OH MY GOOOOOOOOD!” You just need to look this up and watch it right now.
