Fuller House series finale wedding didn't feature a surprise Michelle appearance, but the youngest Tanner sister may have secretly been involved in the affair. For the duration of its 5-season run, fans wondered if Michelle would return to her San Francisco childhood home like her sisters, but unfortunately, that never happened. Alternately played by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in Full House, the twins refused to reprise their role despite being repeatedly asked. The pair explained that they've moved on from showbusiness and are now high-fashion designers, and have no intention of reliving their acting days.

While Michelle didn't have a physical presence in Fuller House, the series attempted to incorporate her in earlier seasons. It was explained in the premiere that she's not around because she's now based in New York running her fashion empire — a story detail mined from the Olsens' real-life jobs. Fuller House dropped several Michelle references through the years, but as it became so much clearer that there's no chance that the twins will reconsider their decision, the Full House spin-off started casting her aside. Actress Candace Cameron-Bure, who also served as a producer, revealed that they didn't even ask them to partake in the finale.

With that, DJ and Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), got married without their youngest sister around. What's worse is, there's not even any mention of her being invited to the affair. That said, she may not be totally uninvolved with the whole process. Michelle could've tried helping pull off the Fuller House event despite being physically absent from it as implied by the surprise appearance of Derek Boyd (Blake McIver Ewing).

After months of the brides obsessing over their big day, they hit almost every single problem imaginable during their wedding day. Their chosen venue suddenly closed down as it was apparently being seized by the government, forcing them to hold the ceremony in the Tanner family home backyard. Meanwhile, their hair and make-up people, for some odd reason, backed out at the very last minute; fortunately, Fernando (Juan Pablo di Pace) was willing to lend a helping hand. Finally, the officiator also bailed out, explaining that he needed to cater to high-profile guests.

Wanting to help the girls, Danny (Bob Saget) and Joey (Dave Coulier) team up to find a last-minute replacement, and among those who volunteered for the job is Derek. For context, Derek was Michelle's childhood friend who regularly appeared in Full House for a while. This marked the character's first appearance in Fuller House, however. Considering the fact that he doesn't have any connection to the Tanner family other than through Michelle, it's possible that she personally asked him to help resolve her sisters' wedding dilemma. Unfortunately, it didn't work out for Derek as Danny got Joey McIntyre to officiate the ceremony.

Given how DJ and Stephanie pretty much disregarded Michelle in their wedding, it's nice to think that the youngest Tanner sister still found a way to be involved in the family affair, attempting to help in any way she can. Granted that Netflix and Fuller House's producer could only do so much when it came to recruiting the Olsens to reprise their Full House role, they could've been more active in incorporating Michelle in the storyline. That way, it didn't feel like they intentionally excluded her in the finale, only bringing her up to make fun of her.
