The Fuller House finale gathered a lot of characters together for one last goodbye, but there were also some important people missing. As set up in the midseason finale, DJ (Candace Cameron-Bure), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), and Kimmy (Andrea Barber) got married at the same time to Steve (Scott Weinger), Jimmy (Adam Hagenbuch) and Fernando (Juan Pablo Di Pace). The event functioned as a great send-off to the Full House spin-off series, as the occasion also meant the involvement of the extended Tanner family.
After a string of mishaps, the brides were forced to host their triple wedding at the Tanner backyard, which worked for the better considering that only relatives and close friends were invited to the intimate gathering. Aside from the primary Fuller House cast, other recurring characters such as Danny (Bob Saget), Jesse (John Stamos), and Joey (Dave Coulier) were present in the event. There's also a handful of guest stars - many of whom are exes like Vicky (Gail Edwards), Duane (Scott Menville), Viper (David Lipper), and Matt (John Brotherton). Overall, the whole ceremony and the party that followed went on without a hitch - though with some tear-jerking moments, especially as the brides and grooms deliver their respective wedding vows.
As beautiful as the wedding turned out to be, there were some notable absences from the event. Full House's finale doubled as a reunion for the extended Tanner clan, but even Danny's nuclear family wasn't complete. Here are all the characters who were not in the Full House spin-off's final episode.
Michelle
The youngest Tanner sister was a no-show throughout Fuller House's run as Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who alternately played the character in Full House, refused to reprise their role. It's not for lack of trying from the show creators, however, as they reached out to the former child stars for the part. Unfortunately, the twins are not interested in returning in front of the camera as Michelle, as they're now fashion mogul owners of brands like The Row and Elizabeth and James. This inspired Michelle's supposed job in the series. As explained in season 1, she's now based in New York as a fashion label owner.
Still, fans were hoping that the Netflix series would be able to pull off a surprise cameo from either of them, especially considering that both of her sisters were tying the knot. To manage viewers' expectations, Fuller House's penultimate show confirmed that Michelle wasn't coming to the finale. The meta-joke was delivered by Kimmy while the girls visited the house's attic to look for their "something borrowed" and "something old" items. The spin-off didn't expound why she's not attending the wedding - in fact, there's not any indication that DJ and Stephanie or even Danny tried to invite her. Cameron-Bure, who served as a producer to the show as well, however, revealed that they didn't ask the Olsens to be involved in any way in the finale.
Aunt Becky
Unlike Michelle, Aunt Becky (Lori Loughlin) was in the earlier seasons of Fuller House. She's still with Jesse, and together they adopted a daughter - Pamela. At the end of season 4, she and Danny reclaimed their old jobs hosting Wake Up, San Francisco, resulting in her family coming back to Bay Area. This gave fans the idea that she and her family would be more visible in the final season of Fuller House. However, due to Loughlin's real-life run-in with the law, that wasn't possible.
Shortly after Fuller House was renewed for its fifth and final season, news broke out that she's involved in the college admission scandal. Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, reportedly paid half a million dollars to get their two daughters into USC, either by faking athletic records or cheating their SAT scores. Both Hallmark and Netflix decided to fire Loughlin from her respective projects with them, resulting in her absence in Fuller House's farewell year.
Fuller House delayed explaining why Becky is nowhere to be found until the latter half of the year. According to Jesse, she's in Nebraska helping her mother. As someone who was the mother figure to the Tanner girls growing up, it's odd that Becky's not in DJ and Stephanie's wedding. However, given the circumstances, it's understandable why Netflix and the show wanted to distance themselves from the actress.
Nicky and Alex
Jesse and Becky's twins - Nicky and Alex (Dylan and Blake Tuomy-Wilhoit) debuted in season 5 of Full House as the show's youngest cast members as Michelle continued to grow up. However, they didn't get as much attention as their cousin did, partly because they're not the center of the series. Nonetheless, they're integral parts of the franchise so Fuller House brought them back when the spin-off began and they appeared once more in season 2. After that, they never returned to the Tanner household, even during their two oldest cousins' wedding.
As they revealed in their previous appearances, Nicky and Alex were planning on opening a fish taco truck after they graduate from college. Their parents don't seem to consistently communicate with the boys, as they barely talked about them, leaving fans clueless about their whereabouts. In fact, when Kimmy revealed that they pushed forward with their plans, Jesse was surprised, indicating that he doesn't know what his sons are up to. It's unknown if Fuller House's producers asked the Tuomy-Wilhoits to reprise their roles in the finale. Perhaps the decision to leave them out of the wedding was so that their mother's absence isn't that obvious.
Joey's Family
After helping Danny raise his three daughters, Joey eventually married and started his own family. It's worth noting that there's no talk of Joey's existing family in Fuller House season 1, although he's clearly wearing a wedding band. His wife, Ginger (Laura Bell Bundy) and four kids were introduced in season 2, episode 19, "Fuller Thanksgiving." The initial excitement over meeting the Gladstones, however, was quickly lost after the Fuller House kids discovered how mischievous Joey's kids are. After that incident, Joey would still regularly visit the girls in San Francisco, but never brought his family back.
Granted that the Gladstone kids are too much to handle, one would assume that they would be at least invited to the wedding. However, it appears as if they're not asked to come. When Joey came in to throw a party for the brides-to-be, no one tried to hide the fact that they don't want to deal with his family. On his part, Joey knew this, telling them that he didn't bring them with him. Given the fact that the comedian is well-aware that the Tanners aren't fond of his kids, it's possible that he decided on his own to not bring them to the wedding so as not to cause any commotion. In hindsight, that's for the better, especially since it's also the final episode of Fuller House.
