What happened to Danny Tanner's (Bob Saget) second wife, Teri, in Fuller House? When the Netflix Full House spin-off debuted, fans were reunited with the Tanner family. While the narrative focused on DJ (Candace Cameron-Bure), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), and Kimmy (Andrea Barber), the sitcom gave each of the adult characters something going on with their lives. For the Tanner patriarch, that meant having another life partner.

Named Teri Tanner, the character was played by Eva LaRue. Not much was revealed about her when she first appeared in the Fuller House premiere titled "Our Very First Show, Again." Given the fact that she's never mentioned in the original show, it's safe to say that she and Danny met after the events of Full House - meaning, the kids were considerably older when Danny re-married. There's no mention of how long they were married, however.

So what happened to Teri and why didn't she have a bigger presence in the spin-off? Given the lack of effort establishing the character, it was somewhat expected that she wouldn't become a key player in Fuller House. However, the fact she only appeared in one episode is weird considering that Teri's married to Danny, and the latter regularly popped in to check his daughters. There were also several holiday gatherings that she wasn't in. It was revealed in season 3, episode 3 titled "Declaration of Independence" that the pair secretly divorced. Danny didn't chalk their separation to a particular issue, but given his outburst about the tiny things they bickered about, it's clear that they weren't getting along.

For what it's worth, it seemed like the girls had an idea something was wrong with Danny's relationship with Teri even before the divorce. While the couple looked very happy in the Fuller House series premiere, the fact that she never returned to the San Francisco home or attempted to bond with the Tanner kids were warning signs. DJ pointed these things out when they accidentally found out about the split. Confronted by his kids and Kimmy, Danny ultimately came clean about the fact that they married without really knowing each other. Unfortunately, they only realized they were incompatible once they've already tied the knot.

What's interesting about Danny's marriage to Teri was that it was quite odd that Fuller House didn't tackle what really went down between them. Since his first wife, Pam, died from the car accident, Danny had been focused on raising his kids - that doesn't mean, however, that he didn't go out for dates. He went out with different ladies throughout Full House, with his most prominent ex-girlfriend Vicky (Gail Edwards) who even attended DJ, Stephanie, and Kimmy's wedding in the offshoot's series finale. If Fuller House wanted to finally give Danny a life partner, why didn't they put in more work to develop their relationship? Even though the relationship ended, at least fans knew a little more about the lady unlike with happened with Teri.

Fuller House ended with both Jesse (John Stamos) and Joey (Dave Coulier) as married while Danny is ironically single. In hindsight, given everything he's gone through in terms of raising his family, this is quite depressing. In any case, perhaps the re-entry of Vicky in his life was an indication that the pair might rekindle their romance. Unfortunately, with the spin-off done, fans can only wonder about this possibility.
