Since the initial release of Frozen six years ago, fans of all ages have helped make it a cultural phenomenon. The story of two sisters coming together to save each other and their kingdom and the powerful message of accepting yourself for who you are made this an instant classic Disney film.

So with the sequel fast approaching, there is a lot to reflect on and specifically remember from the original film to better prepare ourselves for the sequel. Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and Kristoff with his sidekick Sven are going to be embarking on a new journey this time around, but let's go over 10 key scenes from the first film before we head to theaters for the second installment.

Elsa’s Coronation Ceremony

Towards the beginning of Frozen, Elsa is nervous about her impending coronation ceremony to become Queen of Arendelle. She is especially apprehensive about it because she is the only one who knows about her icy powers that she views as monstrous.

Anna, on the other hand, is thrilled they will be opening the gates and seeing the people of their kingdom. While the two sisters are on total opposite ends of the spectrum, they are both happy to see each other without a door keeping them apart. At least, at first.

Elsa is officially crowned Queen and all is going smoothly until the ball, where her gloves come off and her powers are revealed for all to see.

Anna And Elsa’s Parents Perished At Sea

While away on a royal trip, Elsa and Anna's parents got caught in a terrifying storm while at sea. It was heavily implied that they perished in that storm and were never seen by their daughters, or anyone else for that matter, again.

Of course, there are many fan theories out there that feel they did not die that day and were instead shipwrecked where another classic Disney character -- Tarzan -- was born.

Whether that's true or not is up in there, but as far as Frozen fans are concerned, their parents did not make it through that storm, which devastated both Anna and Elsa.

The Trolls And Their Magical Powers

The trolls at the Valley of the Living Rock played a large and pivotal role in the original Frozen film. For one, they were the ones to help heal an unconscious Anna when Elsa's powers had accidentally harmed her. They also altered her memories of Elsa's magic, at the royal parents' request.

This scene played out at the beginning of Frozen and set the course for the rest of the events in the film. It turned out that they also helped raise Kristoff, who would later become Anna's love interest.

It will be interesting to see what role they will play in the upcoming sequel.

Elsa ‘Let It Go’

Who could possibly forget the most iconic song to come out of Frozen? It was quite possibly the most popular Disney song to come out in years upon years. Every child seemed to be obsessed with it and even adults couldn't help but sing along.

Well, we first got to hear this incredible solo performance of Elsa's when she ran away from Arendelle and finally began to accept herself and her powers for the first time in her life. Instead of being ashamed or worrying what others thought, she literally "let it go". And so, the song was born. Seeing her belt out those notes while creating her ice castle and gorgeous icy gown just made the moment all the more powerful.

The Townspeople Wanted To Hunt Elsa Down

When Elsa's true self and powers are revealed at her coronation ceremony, it doesn't take long for the people of her kingdom to turn against her. Leading the angry mob of townspeople was the Duke of Weselton who immediately looked at her as though she was a monster and wanted her killed because of it.

It was apparent that simply because Elsa's powers were something they were not familiar with, they felt it was something evil when in reality, it wasn't anything anyone should be afraid of. This was exactly why Elsa ran away and decided to live on her own.

The Wolves Stalking Anna And Kristoff

When Anna and Kristoff first meet and he agrees to help her find her sister, Elsa, they begin bantering back and forth about true love, since Anna believes she found that with Prince Hans.

But during this discussion, they are being stalked by a pack of wolves. When Kristoff notices this, they begin to take off in his sled to get away from them before they are eaten alive.

They narrowly escape certain death from these wolves when they are able to jump across a cliff, saving themselves from the ravenous wolves. It was an intense scene, but luckily our heroes made it out alive.

Some People Are Worth Melting For According To Olaf

Olaf is the snowman who comes to life through Elsa's magical powers. He originally came to be when the sisters were children, but when Elsa embraced her powers he was brought to life by her.

He then accompanied Anna, Kristoff and Sven on their journey to save Elsa and the kingdom. When Prince Hans showed his true colors, though, Olaf imparted this beautiful wisdom onto Anna as he melted by the fire in front of her. He was more concerned about being there for his friend than his own safety and simply said, "Some people are with melting for." Truer words have never been spoken.

Anna Saved Elsa

At the climax of Frozen, Elsa is about to be killed by Prince Hans as Anna is trying to get to her before he can. Just as Prince Hans raises his sword to bring down on Elsa, Anna steps between the two of them to save her sister.

At this exact moment, Anna -- who has been struggling with the cold that has taken over Arendelle -- becomes completely solid ice and saves Elsa in the process. When Elsa realizes what has happened, she hugs Anna's icy form as she cries and suddenly, Anna's ice begins to melt and she becomes normal once again. It is then that Elsa realizes the key to controlling her powers is simple -- it's love.

Hans Was Deported From Arendelle

Prince Hans was the main antagonist of Frozen. He wanted Arendelle for himself and came up with nefarious schemes to get what he wanted, including manipulating Anna and planning Elsa's demise.

Luckily for our two heroines, his plan backfired in a major way and instead he was the one locked up and ostracized from the kingdom of Arendelle. Elsa had Prince Hans deported and was going to be punished by his twelve older brothers for his problematic behavior and actions. This was the perfect ending for the villain that was Prince Hans. It showed Elsa was not vengeful in her actions but was acting as a dignified and fair leader.

Anna And Kristoff Are Together Now

By the time the credits are ready to roll, Elsa is back in Arendelle, acting as Queen and entertaining her people with her magical powers. She even created a snow cloud for Olaf so he'd always be able to stay with them.

Meanwhile, Anna gifts a new sled to Kristoff who must accept it by the orders of the Queen. Kristoff accepts and excitedly twirls Anna around, wanting to kiss her. They end up sharing a sweet kiss and it is implied they will be starting a courtship now. It was a beautiful ending for Anna and Kristoff and only makes us more excited to see what adventures they will go on in the sequel.
