The Disney movie Frozen was recognized for its depiction of sisterly love. Many fans resonated with the on-screen relationship shown through Anna and Elsa. These two sisters are very different from one another but it is clear that their love for each other is stronger than those differences.

Even though these two care deeply for each other, they make many mistakes. And while Anna's occasionally subject to hurtful mistreatment by Elsa, Anna is not a perfect sister either. Here are 5 times Anna was the best sister and 5 times she was the worst!

Worst: Convinced Elsa To Use Her Powers

Children often get into trouble because they don't understand the importance of the rules their parents have put in place. And of course, when a child has magical powers they are bound to use them in ways that aren't always safe.

When the sisters are children, Anna wakes Elsa from her sleep and convinces her to use her powers to create a winter wonderland inside the house. While we can't exactly fault Anna for this as she was a child and didn't understand the dangers, this request did lead to Anna getting struck by ice. Elsa took full responsibility for this and the night haunted her for years.

Best: She's Honest

Anna is brutally honest. This means she tells Elsa things she may not always want to hear, such as when Anna believes Elsa is acting unfairly. It also means Anna shares her thoughts and feelings openly, such as her sharing her plans to marry Hans. Though hearing the truth isn't always easy, having a sister who is honest with her greatly benefits Elsa.

Worst: Gave Up Trying

Anna didn't give up on Elsa as quickly as many others may have, but she did eventually give up. After years of rejection, Anna decided it wasn't helpful to pursue a relationship with Elsa anymore. At the coronation party, she seems prepared to avoid and ignore Elsa for the entire night.

Best: Forgives Elsa

Anna is extremely kind and forgiving. All of the years of pain Elsa caused her are forgotten in a moment when Elsa begins to speak to her at the coronation party. She immediately reacts warmly to Elsa, complimenting her and seeking out common ground.

She doesn't question Elsa about her choices or share how hurt she has made Anna feel. Instead, Anna expresses how much she enjoys their time together and expresses a desire to spend more time together.

Worst: Talked Negatively About Elsa

While Anna is generally remembered for her funny and optimistic quotes, she has also said some unkind things. The resentment Anna was harboring after years of neglect resulted in her making some passive-aggressive remarks about Elsa.

One of these comments are even made when she first means Hans. When he apologizes profusely for bumping into her and acknowledges her as the princess, she even says "if you'd bumped into my sister, that would be... ya know..." implying that Elsa would have had a much harsher response than her.

Best: Didn't Fear Elsa

Anna's childhood memories of Elsa's powers had been wiped, so her only experience with them as an adult is when Elsa accidentally hurtles sharp dagger-like icicles at her. As she uncontrollably begins to freeze Arendelle, Anna chases after her in an attempt to comfort and understand her. Nobody would blame Anna if she reacted less favorably to this, but Anna remains a caring sister through the whole ordeal.

Worst: Ignored Elsa's Feelings

Anna's sunny optimism can be viewed as a strength, but it also causes conflict with those around her. Anna is always sure that everything will work out for the best while Elsa recognizes that that isn't true. When Anna finally finds Elsa, she tries to convince her to come back.

She tells Elsa that everything is going to be okay, ignoring Elsa's concerns. While Anna is doing her best to make Elsa feel better, she isn't really hearing what she is saying and it's obvious that Elsa's struggle is lost on Anna.

Best: Went Looking For Her Sister

Anna is bold. This character is the hero of her own story and when she feels Elsa is in danger, she bravely springs into action. Anna is determined to save everyone, including her sister. Her devotion and willingness to risk her life as she braves the storm solidifies Anna as one of the best sisters ever.

Worst: Ignored Elsa's Warning

Frozen Hans and Anna Love Is An Open Door

Anna is naive and trusting, but Elsa knows better. When Anna enters into a quick-moving relationship with Hans, Elsa warns her about falling in love too fast. Anna is upset with Elsa for this and lashes out at her for the years of mistreatment.

Unfortunately for Anna, Elsa is right not to trust Hans. Ignoring Elsa's warning proves to be one of the worst mistakes of Anna's life and almost results in the death of both sisters.

Best: Saved Elsa From Hans

Frozen Anna freezes and Hans and Elsa fight

As Anna freezes to death, she knows that the only thing that can save her is an act of true love. She foolishly believes this means a kiss from a romantic partner. But even with this belief in mind, Anna heads away from Kristoff (who she recognizes as the one who truly loves her) to save her sister from Hans' attack. She daringly throws herself in front of his blade just as it comes crashing down, saving both Elsa's life and her own.
