Kristen Bell, one of the stars of the hit Disney movie, Frozen, teases that Frozen 3 may be in the works. Frozen premiered in 2013, and follows Elsa (played by Idina Menzel) as the queen of the fictional kingdom, Arendelle, who also possesses magical powers that let her manipulate ice and snow. Her younger sister, with whom she has a complicated relationship due to years of isolating from each other, is Anna (played by Bell).

After Frozen's premiere, it became the highest-grossing animated film at the time, spawning a new franchise for Disney. Following 2018's Frozen musical on Broadway, movie sequel Frozen 2 was released in 2019. Much like its predecessor, Frozen 2 was a massive box office success, grossing $1.4 billion worldwide. Considering the followup's impressive performance, many have wondered if a Frozen 3 will ever be made. Nothing's been officially announced yet, but Bell is hopeful another sequel can come to fruition..

In an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Bell announces that there is a promising possibility of a Frozen 3 film in the future. Although Bell shares that this announcement comes with "zero authority" as she is "not in charge," she also notes that Menzel recently said that she is on board to do Frozen 3. She also says that she feels like the rest of the cast are also ready to participate in the next chapter of the Frozen saga as well. A full quote from Bell can be read below:

"I would like to officially announce, with zero authority, Frozen 3."

"I know Idina recently said she would do it. And I feel like if we're all in, what are we waiting for?"

The success of both Frozen and Frozen 2 certainly sets the bar high for the next installment of the franchise. Hopefully some of the people whom Bell is referencing as being "all in" for Frozen 3 includes Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, the writers and directors of Frozen and Frozen 2. Menzel being willing to come back for a third time as Elsa, and Bell being excited at the possibility of a Frozen 3 does make it seem as though there are significantly less barriers to Frozen 3 coming to fruition. Last year, when Gad talked about the possibility of Frozen 3, he noted there'd have to be a good enough story for the franchise to continue, but that as soon as that story is known, that he is sure Lee and Buck will not hesitate in making Frozen 3. Hopefully, Lee and Buck have an inspired Frozen 3 story up their sleeve.

With Anna now engaged to Kristoff, Frozen 3 will likely have to explore how this adds a new dynamic to their relationship, or may even pick up with them as newlyweds having to navigate both a change to their relationship while Anna also must learn how to balance her duties as Queen of Arendelle. Besides this, seeing how Elsa's and Anna's relationship changes now that they are both in significant positions of power, and in charge of protecting both people and magical spirits, should create an opportunity for a plot in which the dynamic of their relationship is even further explored and expanded. It'll be interesting to see whether plans for Frozen 3 become more concrete in the coming months.
