Kristen Bell says she is ready to voice Anna again for Frozen 3. In 2013, Disney went great guns after Frozen, its animated, musical take on Hans Christian Andersen's Snow Queen fairytale, which translated into a $1.28 billion revenue at the box office. The sisterly bond between the lead princesses, Elsa (Idina Menzel) and Anna (Bell), resonated with audiences, and its irresistible singalong numbers, like "Let It Go" and "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" became wildly popular across the globe. The movie was naturally followed by a sequel, Frozen II, in 2019, which proved to be an even bigger blockbuster. Over the years, Frozen has spawned an entire franchise, transforming into a global brand that includes video games, short films, and live shows apart from the feature films.

Although the Frozen franchise continues to entertain fans one way or the other, many have wondered if a threequel would ever happen. After Frozen II came out in theaters, co-director Jennifer Lee said that the story of Elsa and Anna had pretty much been fleshed out. Lee's colleagues also echoed similar sentiments, pointing out that there have been no concrete discussions at Disney to make Frozen 3. According to Josh Gad, who voiced Frozen's adorable snowman, Olaf, Frozen 3 won't happen unless the filmmakers have an incredible idea for the story; otherwise, it would be a disservice to fans who treasure the kingdom of Arendelle, its stories, and characters. Although there is no official indication that Frozen 3 would happen, the original voice actors are seemingly still on board to reprise their roles.

In a recent conversation with Good Morning America, Frozen's Anna voice actor, Kristen Bell (The Good Place), revealed that she would return to voice the character again "in a heartbeat" if Frozen 3 happens. Bell also expressed her love for her colleagues from the movie. Additionally, when told that Menzel was interested in reprising her role, Bell jokingly remarked that there shouldn't be any hold-up. Read what Bell said below.

" You guys can take it, I would do it in a heartbeat. I love that family. Listen if we are both in, what are we waiting for?"

As alluded to in the interview, recently, Menzel expressed interest in voicing Elsa for Frozen 3. The Cinderalla actress noted that she doesn't know if the movie was happening, although she would love a chance to "play a blonde animated girl who is, like, 15" again. This isn't the first time the lead stars have addressed the possibility of returning for Frozen 3. Previously, Bell flippantly announced on The Kelly Clarkson Show that she would make Frozen 3, 4, and even 5 on her own if Disney wasn't on board with the idea. Bell's co-star Jonathan Groff, who plays Kristoff, also finds Frozen 3 a viable possibility. However, he compared the likelihood of the movie happening to Mindhunter season 3, which has since been scrapped.

Given Bell's enthusiasm for Frozen 3, the movie may materialize after all. Of course, right now, some fans may be disheartened as Frozen 3 hasn't still been officially greenlit. But even the second movie took six years to come out, so the filmmakers still have time to develop a good story. The positive news is that even after a 3-year-long wait, excitement for Frozen 3 hasn't died out, and the film franchise continues to remain popular worldwide. True, the original story has been told, but there are endless possibilities that the filmmakers can tap to develop a threequel. Some popular ideas include Elsa's sexuality, Anna's potential fire superpowers, and dormant enemies so that Disney can build on almost any of these storylines for Frozen 3. The studio already has the support of the cast; what's left is to figure some specifics out on the creative side.
