Warning: SPOILERS for Frozen 2 ahead.

Frozen 2 features one final gag which arguably was the funniest joke in the film, but it was already done before in the MCU. The Arendelle sisters are back for a brand new adventure. It might have been a long six-year-wait for fans of the franchise to see Elsa (Idina Menzel) and Anna (Kristen Bell) back on the big screen again, but it appears to be worth it considering a generally positive reception to the darker sequel (not to mention Frozen 2's record-breaking box office opening).

The Disney animated follow-up picks up three years after the events of 2013's Frozen, just as Arendelle is gearing up to celebrate the autumn season. Things, however, take an unusual turn when Queen Elsa is haunted by a mysterious voice calling to her and inadvertently awakens the elemental spirits. With danger looming, the kingdom is forced to evacuate while she, Anna, Olaf (Josh Gad), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and Sven embark on a journey to the Enchanted Forest about discovering the hidden mysteries of the past.

Admittedly, Frozen 2's story got a little bit complicated compared to the first film. The sequel deals with complex mythologies and features a couple of unexpected plot twists and turns. So just to wrap the whole story up in a succinct and cohesive way, Frozen 2's post-credits scene sees Olaf recapping the events of the sequel. The adorable snowman visits Elsa, who's now the protector of the Enchanted Forest, and recounts his most recent experience to Marshmallow (Paul Briggs) and several snowgies. The scene is a play on Olaf's storytelling abilities as the snowman recapped the events of the first Frozen earlier in the sequel.

It's a hilarious moment in Frozen 2 that capitalizes on Gad's ability of bringing his character to life, however, fans of the MCU might find it familiar - as it's Ant-Man's Luis' (Michael Pena) schtick. In Peyton Reed's 2015 origin story starring Paul Rudd, Scott Lang's fellow ex-convict buddy made a mark on fans for his outrageous and ridiculous recaps. He continued to do that in last year's Ant-Man & The Wasp, making him a fan-favorite character in the comic book film franchise. Marvel Studios acknowledged this by having Pena team up with Rudd and do a hilarious recap of the MCU's history leading up to the Ant-Man sequel. The video was exclusively shown at 2017's San Diego Comic-Con, and the public is still holding out hope that it'll eventually be rolled out.

While it's essentially a spin on an MCU gag, that doesn't mean that Frozen 2's after-credits version didn't achieve its goal of evoking laughs from the audience. It's an effective way to cap off the movie on a feel-good note. Olaf trying to also re-enact his recap made it much funnier, and also different from Luis' version which featured exaggerated montage of what really went down. If anything, it proves that storytelling recaps can be hilarious especially when done well.
