When Disney released Frozenthey had no clue it was going to be such a massive, worldwide hit. It was a smaller production and wasn't based on any existing intellectual property Disney owns, meaning there was no guarantee it would do well. After it's release, the film surprised everyone, receiving great reviews and earning $1.274 billion internationally. Going into Frozen 2's release, Disney knew it would be a huge success, and that's evident in it's rising profits so far. Frozen 2 has already broken the Disney Animation opening weekend box office record, earning $127 million domestically, surpassing the previous record holder Zootopia's $75 million.

With an amazing soundtrack and a darker, more heartfelt story, Frozen 2 is a worthy Disney sequel. The film has great humor and attention to detail, though there are still many questions left unanswered at the end. This leaves plenty of room for a possible third Frozen film, and with how much money the franchise has made so far, it seems like only a matter of time before Disney greenlights a follow-up to Frozen 2
