Just like the first movie, Frozen 2 aims to explore Elsa's ice powers, expanding on how and why she can conjure the magic that she does, but it's theoretically possible that she's not the only person in her family with these abilities - Anna may also have powers of her own. Set three years after the events of the first movie, Frozen 2 sees Elsa unknowingly awaken the magical spirits from the Enchanted Forest to the north of Arendelle.

Because of that, Elsa embarks on a new journey with Anna, Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf to the forest to see how they can save Arendelle and uncover secrets about their past. But while Elsa, her powers, and her trials through the Enchanted Forest are the prime focus of the story, Frozen 2 is also about Anna. She is one-half of Frozen's duo, and it's possible that she may not be the normal princess that people believe she is. With Frozen 2, she may just have powers of her own, which would amplify the story that's already being told in the upcoming sequel.

In addition to answering questions left over from Frozen, the filmmakers behind Frozen 2 have promised to explain why "Anna was born the way she was." Those carefully chosen words may not mean why Anna was born without powers, but rather, why she hasn't exhibited her powers until now. And those powers could be, theoretically, fire-based. A core part of Frozen 2's story is dealing with the differences between the two sisters and the ultimate difference would undoubtedly be a yin-and-yang of their powers - ice and fire.

Ice and fire is a classic combination of powers in fantasy stories, and it's clear by what Disney has revealed about Frozen 2 so far that fire is a key aspect of the story. In fact, the only magical spirit from the Enchanted Forest that hasn't been revealed yet - from earth, air, fire, and water - is fire. Perhaps that's because the fire spirit is a spoiler, which would mean that the spirit affects the story and Elsa in a profound way, unlike all the other magicial spirits such as the Nokk, Gale, and the Earth Giants.

Anna either being the fire spirit herself or having powers that come from the fire spirit could be an attributing factor to why Anna and Elsa's parents left on their perilous voyage. They may not have only been concerned with Elsa's powers but preventing Anna from developing powers of her own. In the Frozen 2 trailers thus far, fire has been an obvious factor. Anna and Elsa bicker about Elsa charging into fire and Anna running in right behind her. But beyond that, controlling that fire is something Elsa appears to struggle with.

What's interesting is that Frozen 2's art teams have specifically said that they tell a story through design. That's why Elsa only wears cool colors; Anna, on the other hand, tends to wear autumn colors on the inside - almost fire-like - and warm colors on the outside. Magenta was the color hue used for the elemental fire in Frozen 2, and that's precisely the color Anna dresses in. Even if Frozen 2's filmmakers choose not to reveal that Anna was born with fire powers, it's possible she could still get them in the movie. After all, as the trolls said in the first film, people can be born with powers or cursed with them.
