To unlock Baxcalibur, the new pseudo-Legendary of Generation IX in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Trainers must know where to find the first form in the pocket monster's evolution family — Frigibax. Frigibax is a small gray creature with humanoid-like features, such as arms and legs attached to a central body. Its comically large eyes, nose, and mouth give it some charm that many might think to be an adorable quality of the Dragon- and Ice-type pocket monster. However, finding the basic form of this elusive pseudo-Legendary is anything but charming, as many fans might struggle to discover its hidden habitat.

To evolve Frigibax into Arctibax and Baxcalibur pseudo-Legendary in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Trainers must first know where to encounter and catch Frigibax in the open-world region of Paldea. Fortunately, Frigibax seems to always spawn in the same spot on the map; the main challenge is finding this location. Starting from Mesagoza, players must travel westward across the South Province (Area Two) and through West Province (Area One). After trekking through the Asado Desert and the remaining zones of West Province, Trainers will eventually reach the Pokémon Center of Glaseado Mountain, which is very close to Frigibax's cave.

Finding and Evolving Frigibax in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Map Location of the Cave Where Frigibax Lives in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

After reaching the Glaseado Mountain Pokémon Center in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, travel westward and carefully drop onto the narrow shelf overlooking the grasslands below. If Trainers fail to land this drop, they will need to go all back around to Glaseado Mountain for another attempt. Accordingly, players are encouraged to use their Mount's gliding exploration ability to smooth their fall onto the smooth. Once players find a small hidden cave entrance within the mountain, they can enter it to encounter a group of rare pocket monsters, including the Ice- and Dragon-type Frigibax. A single Ultra Ball should be sufficient to catch Frigibax in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

The next step is evolving Frigibax into Arctibax in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. According to YouTuber UnderTheRadar, the requirement for this evolution is leveling Arctibax to Level 35. To quicken the leveling process, players are encouraged to feed the monster EXP Candy for effortless level-ups. After acquiring Arctibax, Trainers must complete one final step to evolve it into the pseudo-Legendary Baxcalibur. Arctibax must reach Level 54 for the evolution to occur, which is a hefty investment of EXP Candy, but grinding Tera Raids for a few hours should net players the Candy they need. Once Arctibax attains Level 54, it will finally evolve into Baxcalibur in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
