Frieza, the evil tyrant of the Dragon Ball Universe, is out for blood as a Raider in Dragon Ball: The Breakers. The asymmetric action game from Developer Dimps allows players to hunt down Survivors and play out a villainous plot to victory. Frieza joins Cell and Buu, two of the best villains from the Anime in DB: The Breakers, as playable Raiders. The planet-conquering fiend has an arsenal of Super Attacks that can take out Survivors even in Frieza's lowest form.

All Raiders have an evolution level, where they transform into a more powerful form. For Frieza, it's all about pain and suffering in the name of power. Frieza's Passive Skill, You Really Know How to Piss Me Off!, is aptly named because Frieza gains an Evolution Energy boost when he finishes a Namekian, and they don't have a Dragon Ball. It's no secret that Frieza has a bit of an anger problem, and in DB: The Breakers, the player can use it as an advantage. When Frieza gets hurt, his Evolution Energy will go up. Frieza is strong enough from the start of the game to eliminate Survivors, even if they have collected sufficient Transpheres to fight back in DB: The Breakers.

Zarbon and Dodoria, Generals in the Frieza Force, are ready to serve their lord in DB: The Breakers. The alien warriors are summoned by Frieza and seek out Survivors and fire off a blast at them if they find them. Once Zarbon or Dodoria attack, they disappear and go back into cooldown mode. Frieza can call on them in all his forms, but they are the most helpful in his first form to help find Survivors and beat them up. If a player wants more control over Zarbon and Dodoria, they should try out Xenoverse 2 and the DB: Super Hero Movie characters it added.

Strategies for Playing as Frieza

Frieza Firing Big Energy Blast In DB: The Breakers

Frieza should immediately scout the competition, fight and finish survivors, become immortal, and level the playing field. The evil overlord seeks power above all else, so the player should keep that in mind when playing with him. To gain strength in DB: The Breakers, Frieza must constantly be on the attack and searching for Dragon Balls.

Scout the Competition

Frieza First Form with Scouter in DB: The Raiders

Frieza enters the game with a Scouter attached that is helpful in the early going. Fly up as high as Frieza can go and activate the Scouter, and don't deactivate it until Frieza has scanned Civilians and Survivors in every direction. If a Survivor is nearby, pounce on them, as fighting them will give more Evolution Energy than killing Civilians. Frieza is strong enough in his first form to take on powered-up Survivors, unlike fellow Raider Cell's Larva form in DB: The Breakers, who isn't ready to fight yet. Death Wave has a 10-second recharge time, so spam it on Survivors to deal significant damage in Frieza's first form. When a Survivor tries to escape, Frieza's Supernova attack will cast a wide net with its large blast radius to stop them in their tracks.

Fight and Finish Survivors

Frieza Second Form in DB: The Breakers

It doesn't take much to get to Frieza's second form, but the player does lose the trusty Scouter. With the transformation into the tall bull-horned version of the villain comes the ability to blow up a map section. Blowing up an area as soon as Frieza transforms gives the Survivors fewer places to hide, making it easier to win as a Raider in DB: The Breakers. After the explosion, look at the outskirts and find Survivors hurrying to escape, and charge after them.

Frieza's second and third stages are built to move quickly and eliminate Survivors. He will now have the Break Strike Ability, which sends enemies flying even when being hit, an excellent defensive move if enemies are ganging up on Freiza. Explosive Wave is a Super Attack that instantly locks on the enemy and creates a large explosion, which is good for when an enemy is trying to flee. Third-stage Frieza can fire multiple thin Ki Blasts in succession; this shotgun attack is powerful but inaccurate. Finally, this evolution level has one of Frieza's most infamous moves, the Death Beam, that fires a quick and decisive Ki Wave at a Survivor. In DB FighterZ, Frieza is part of many dramatic finishers, and he continues to be a closer in DB: The Breakers.

Become Immortal

Dragon Ball: The Breakers Final Form Frieza

Frieza's lust to become immortal is possible in this game by collecting all of the Dragon Balls. If Frieza can get all seven Dragon Balls and make his wish, he will have unlimited HP. When Frieza is in an area with buildings, fire off Ki Blasts to expose the civilians and boxes. Civilians will often be next to bins; make sure to open them because they could have a Dragon Radar or even Dragon Balls.

Finding a Dragon Radar will help Frieza locate Survivors holding Dragon Balls after he loses his Scouter and find Dragon Balls for himself while he searches. One of the Cons of Raiders in DB: The Breakers is they can't use most items, but they can use Radars. When a Raider downs a Survivor, they drop the Dragon Balls they are carrying, and picking up even one of them ensures they won't be able to summon Shenron. It isn't easy to collect the Dragon Balls as a Raider, but if Frieza can knock out Survivors early, it makes the game-winning task possible.

Level The Playing Field

Frieza DB- The Breakers firing up a Super Attack

In Frieza's Final Stage, the Super Attacks are overpowered and aimed at sending the Survivors home in a body bag. This Planet Will Die fires a Ki Blast in a huge radius and creates a ring of fire in its wake. This move has a two-minute cooldown time, so it is important to time and aim correctly. Knowing when to revive teammates is a crucial Survivor strategy in DB: The Breakers, and knowing that can give the Raider a leg up. Reserve This Planet Will Die for when a few survivors are bunched up or huddled around the Time Machine for a group kill. Frieza can throw a giant Ki wrench in that plan with his final form's Super Attacks by taking out the downed enemy and the player reviving them. One of the advantages Frieza has over other Raiders is he can deliver a finishing blow from a distance, making it easier to finish enemies for good.

Death Slash only has a 10-second cooldown time and can cause massive damage to enemies in a line. If there are still a lot of survivors left, make sure to finish them off after downing them, so they can't group against Frieza and overwhelm him. While DB: The Breakers doesn't focus on fighting as much as FighterZ does, playing as Frieza makes players feel like they are constantly in a battle. With the right strategy, Frieza will extinguish her foes and secure victory in DB: The Raiders.
