Fans of Friends know if Rachel Karen Green (Jennifer Aniston) didn't slip out of a window during her wedding and find her way to Central Perk, she'd be very unhappily married to a Long Island dentist, pining for Days of Our Lives star, Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc). She'd also be much more like her very spoiled sisters Jill (Reese Witherspoon) and Amy (Christina Applegate).

Rachel's sisters make a few sporadic appearances on the series, and neither of Rachel's siblings accomplishes more than running up exorbitant credit card bills, getting plastic surgery and dating married men. They are sisters, but the Green women just can't seem to get along. Here are the five worst things Rachel's sisters have done to her, and the five ways she got some payback.

Rachel: Tells Ross To Dump Jill

Reese Witherspoon as Rachel's sister in Friends

Rachel welcomes her sister Jill with open arms after their dad cuts Jill off on "The One with Rachel's Sister." Rachel's willing to share her apartment, but not Ross Geller. Jill has no romantic inclinations towards Ross, but sibling rivalry strikes when Jill reveals Ross isn't her type. Not everybody is keen on a paleontologist who uses too much hair product.

Rachel's ego gets the better of her, and she gives Jill the hard sell on Ross, making him sound too good to pass up.

When her unintentional matchmaking works, Rachel has second thoughts. It's the typical Rachel-Ross scenario: she doesn't want him, but nobody else can have him either (at least nobody good or who shares Rachel's DNA). So Rachel puts the kibosh on this possible love connection real quick, demanding Ross call things off or else she'll suffer some kind of mental breakdown.

Sisters: Jill Tries To Seduce Ross

Ross may be okay with Rachel calling the shots when it comes to his love life, but Jill isn't. She's understandably confused by Ross and Rachel's on and off again status. On "The One Where Chandler Can't Cry," Jill's real motivation for going after Ross is the fact that he's off-limits, according to Rachel.

Jill didn't earn her reputation as the "spoiled one" just because she loves shopping, Jill wants whatever she can't have, even if it's just to spite her sister. The Green sisters getting green over Ross is not a good look for either of them.

Wine and fossils aren't conducive to successful foreplay. Throw in Ross' long history with Rachel and Jill's limited charm, and it's a recipe for rejection.

Rachel: Chooses Friends Over Family

Rachel is gung ho to help Jill become more independent until their sisterly tug of war over Ross. Jill decides to move out of Rachel's apartment but doesn't say where she's going. Maybe Rachel assumes Jill will go crawling back to daddy, but she doesn't even ask Jill what she plans to do next.

Jill's a young woman who possesses none of the skills necessary to survive on her own. Sounds an awful lot like another Green sister. This is Rachel's chance to step up. but she lets Jill storm off never to be seen again.

Sisters: Amy Shows Up Uninvited

Normally, sisters dropping in on each other unannounced is a welcome surprise ...  if they're close, but those Green girls form an unholy trinity that would be tragic if it weren't so funny. After skipping out on Rachel's baby shower and a post-partum hospital visit, Amy shows up on Thanksgiving looking for forgiveness. Just kidding. She just needs a hair straightener.

It takes nine seasons for Amy to make her first appearance on "The One with Rachel's Other Sister." Until then, all viewers know about her is she has a history of biting. Her unexpected arrival is just the beginning of some very unsisterly like behavior.

Rachel: Insults Amy

"The One with Rachel's Other Sister" makes up for lost time, quickly establishing why Rachel and her sisters struggle to play nice. Amy may be self-involved, but Rachel channels her inner mean girl when she makes fun of Amy's non-existent career as a self-proclaimed decorator. Rachel also calls out her sister's irresponsibility, "lack of maturity" and "total disregard for other people's feelings." Ouch.

None of these digs hurt Amy as much as the revelation that Rachel gets a 45 percent discount employee discount at Ralph Lauren while Amy pays retail.

Sisters: Amy Starts Holiday Drama

Amy's inclusion in the annual friends' Thanksgiving dinner on season 9 takes an ugly turn when she learns she's not in the line of succession to take care of Rachel and Ross' daughter Emma if something happens to the twosome.

Amy envisions her life as the plot of a Lifetime movie: she manages to overcome adversity and her complete lack of maternal instinct so she can care for her niece. Sadly, her hopes are dashed, and it sets the tone for an awkward and tense holiday feast.

Rachel: Expressed Glee At Jill's Weight Gain

When it comes to the Green sisters, Jill is the odd woman out. Rachel and Amy can put their differences aside if it means they can gossip about Jill's misfortunes which include a 15-pound weight gain.

Rachel looks shocked at the news, but there's a hint of smugness about Jill's physical shortcomings. You can take the spoiled, superficial, hermaphrodite cheerleader out of Long Island, but a tiny part of her will always live on.

Amy Starts A Catfight

Friends-The One With Rachel’s Other Sister-Season 9-Christina Applegate-#4-jpeg

Friends' season 9 Thanksgiving episode comes to a close with a catfight between Amy and Rachel. Discounts on high-end casual wear, Amy's claim that baby Emma just isn't that cute and years of boyfriend stealing and jealousy form the perfect storm.

Things go from bad to worse. Pushing turns to hair pulling, and soon, the sisters are opponents in the lamest girl fight ever. The real casualty is Monica (Courteney Cox) whose precious wedding china becomes collateral damage during the skirmish.

Rachel Throws Amy Out

With no nanny and no other options, Rachel puts her trust in Amy to babysit Emma. Amy turns out to be less than an ideal caregiver, but at least she tries. Would anyone get a baby's ears pierced without asking? Probably not, but Amy believes she's doing a nice thing.

Rachel has a proven history of offering to help her sisters but abandoning the Herculean task early on. Viewers feel bad for Amy who believes she can get a job as a stylist for babies. Holes in the ears can heal, but holes in a sister's heart can be forever.

Amy's A Bad Houseguest

Amy returns with good intentions on "The One Where Rachel's Sister Babysits." Amy shows some personal growth along with a new sassy hairstyle but manages to insult Rachel's friends, calling out Joey for his poor acting skills. Amy's still self-centered enough to not to remember her niece's name or to recognize Ross, mistaking him for a guy who sells falafels.

Looking to put her gold-digging days behind her, Amy focuses on fat-shaming Joey and making snide remarks about Rachel's clothing choices. She also confesses to cheating with Rachel's one time fiance, Dr. Barry Farber (Mitchell Whitfield). In other words, she's a work in progress.
