Promiscuity isn't unknown to Joey Tribbiani. He was portrayed as the lovable, goofy character with predatory tendencies. There are numerous instances on the show when Joey's sexual predation was passed for laughs. Once Joey set his eyes on a girl, he'd gradually work his way up.

Most of the time, Joey wouldn't remember the girl the morning after. The ones he'd remember, he'd soon be disinterested in them. Joey's signature way to pick-up a woman was to look her up and down and say, "How you doin'?" When this wouldn't work, Joey would go the extra mile to do one of the following hideous things.

The Ken Adams Backpacking Story

Joey's backpacking story according to him is a magic story he used every time he wanted to have sex. The story was a narration of a trip he took to Western Europe years ago. Joey swore by this very romantic story.

"Years ago, when I was backpacking across Western Europe, I was just outside of Barcelona, hiking in the foothills of Mount Tibidabo. I was at the end of this path, and I came to a clearing, and there was a lake, very secluded, and there were tall trees all around. It was dead silent. Gorgeous. And across the lake, I saw a beautiful woman bathing herself. But she was crying..."

Joey sold the story right and pretended to be Ken Adams while telling it.

Took In A Woman Without Interviewing Her

Joey and Janine kissing in Friends.

Could Joey be more desperate? Janine moved in with Joey after Chandler left. He was so strongly infatuated with this woman, he cared not to ask her anything before she moved in. Not even the basic details, such as her last name or where she was from. It was pretty evident when Joey brought her over to Monica's that he didn't know a thing about her.

The only person who was perturbed by Janine being an absolute stranger was Monica. Chandler and Ross were glad Janine was in their lives. Meanwhile, Joey said the only question he'd asked this woman was when she could move in.

Fake Porsche

There was a whole episode on Joey's Porsche on Friends. Joey found unclaimed keys to a Porsche in Central Perk. Being the good Samaritan that he was, he went to find the owner of this car. And that's where the magic happened. That car was a chick magnet. Women walked up to Joey to compliment him. Soon the Porsche guy took his car back. But that didn't stop him from pretending he owned one.

Joey wore Porsche clothes, a cap, and a fanny pack. He made a Porsche cardboard cutout and covered it with car body cover. It gave the ladies an impression that Joey had tucked in a real Porsche under the cover.

Dated Lauren To Make Kate Jealous

Joey seemed insanely attracted to his co-worker Kate Miller. But Kate only dated brilliant men. She was going around with the director of the play, Marshall Townend. Kate often dissed on Joey during the rehearsals. She'd make fun of his soap opera career and his milk carton spout infomercial. There was chemistry between the two, no one could deny. Joey chose a devious way to break the ice with Kate.

When Kate's understudy Lauren asked out Joey, he immediately sensed the opportunity. He said yes just to make Kate jealous. Worst of all, when Kate insulted Lauren by calling her a sweater, Joey said what was underneath the sweater interested him the most.

How You Doin'?

The fact that Joey could use this pick-up line for anyone made it creepier than it already seemed to be. As did Joey's way of saying it. He looks a woman up and down and he says, "Hey, how you doin'?" While explaining this method of picking up girls, Joey also said a desperate girl was a turn-on.

Every time Joey would see an attractive girl, the words would just blurt out of his mouth. He was dead asleep when he tried to pick up Majorie at the sleep clinic.

Fought Pheobe For Ursula

Phoebe poses as Ursula and breaks up with Joey in Friends

Joey thought Phoebe's twin sister Ursula liked him. He first saw her at Riff's. Another attractive woman on his radar and he knew what to do next. He went back at Riff's to order coffee, she'd bought him a tuna melt and four plates of curly fries. Joey's was forthcoming towards Ursula because he found her hot. Which would have been fine, except Phoebe was in the picture too.

On Chandler's advice, Joey did ask Phoebe if she was okay. He didn't put an end to the whole thing after sensing how uncomfortable Phoebe was. He skipped Phoebe's birthday party to be with Ursula. Joey didn't want to do anything to screw it up with Ursula.

Used Emma's Birthday Video To Get Eighteen-Year-Olds

On Emma's first birthday, Ross and Rachel recorded a message for her from the future. Emma was supposed to see the tape on her eighteenth birthday. Everyone said what they had to, including Joey. He took the birthday message to a whole other level of creepiness and promiscuity, in front of Emma's father.

The first sentence that came out of Uncle Joey's mouth was, "Eighteen, huh?" When Ross raised his voice against it, the Uncle said this message was meant for Emma's friends. For in seventeen years Joey would think of starting to settle down. Yet another classic case of abnormal male psychology passed for laughs on Friends.

Sung Happy Birthday To 20 Different Women

Joey tried to put Central Perk out of business during his stint there. Every time an attractive girl walked up to him to know her total, it was on the house. When Ross asked how come his stuff wasn't free, Joey said it would be free when he looked good in a tight skirt.

Waiting tables at Central Perk was Joey's new way to get girls to go out with him. He was giving away free stuff to pretty girls. Joey owed Gunther $8 for all the free food he gave away. Once Joey learned Central Perk gave free food to people with birthdays, he started to sing happy birthday to every pretty girl.

Put Heads Together With Monica To Break Angela And Bob Up

Joey took Monica to rip apart Angela Delvecchio and her boyfriend Bob. He'd been with Angela in the past and dumped her out of boredom. He asked her out again, but she declined to say she was in a relationship. Not knowing how to take no for an answer, Joey asked Angela out on a double date with their respective partners.

On the date, he convinced Monica to join him on the mission. The two of them put their heads together to break Angela and Bob up. In Angela's absence, Joey bad-mouthed her to Bob. Joey said Angela made a cute nibbly noise when she ate, like a happy squirrel or a weasel.

Tried To Get Mary-Ellen Jenkins Drunk

Phoebe set Joey up with her one of her friends, Mary-Ellen Jenkins. She seemed smarter than Joey thought she was. For she was digging out the loopholes in his and Mike's friendship story.

Joey called the waiter to buy her another round, just so his date could shut up. Once the date was over, it also made things easier for him. Joey treated his date like a non-existent entity on the table. He didn't even know her name.
