That '70s Show is set to get its spin-off series on Netflix by the end of 2022, and fans are excited to see what stars and characters will be appearing in the new series. That '90s Show will follow Eric and Donna's daughter, Leia, as she stays a summer with her grandparents in Point Place, Wisconsin. While no guest appearances from the previous cast have been confirmed, fans have their fingers crossed that some of their favorite That '70s Show crew will at least make a single-episode appearance.

A character can make a significant impact in a single episode of a sitcom, for better or worse. For example, the show Friends introduced several guest characters, often played by popular stars, that were only on screen for that episode. Some of these characters were memorable for their likability, while other characters fans remember for just being terrible. These characters, like Screaming Tommy, Amanda Buffamonteezi, and Dr. Hobart, may have only interacted with the Friends characters for a short time, but they certainly left their mark as the absolute worst.

Erika Ford (Season 2, Episode 12)

Erika and Joey on a date in Friends

Erika, played by Brooke Shields, was a beautiful fan of Days of Our Lives that Joey decided to start dating. Unfortunately, things didn't go well for the couple, as Erika could not recognize that Joey was not his character, Dr. Drake Ramoray.

What started as fun for Joey quickly became concerning, as Erika began to get angry with him when she saw his character kissing other women on TV. In the end, the gang had to go to great lengths to convince Erika to leave.

Susie Moss (Season 2, Episode 13)

Chandler and Suzie in Friends

Susie Moss was a makeup artist who worked on a movie set that the "friends" had the opportunity to tour. She recognized Chandler as someone she went to school with, and she flirted with him heavily. Since Chandler only typically went on lousy blind dates on Friends, he was only too pleased for the attention from a pretty woman.

Of course, it all ended up too good to be true. Susie, played by Julia Roberts, tricked Chandler into taking off all his clothes in the bathroom and then ran off with them. It turns out she had only been seeking revenge for Chandler pantsing her on stage during their fourth-grade recital.

Malcolm (Season 3, Episode 3)

Phoebe and Malcolm sit together at Central Perk from Friends

Malcolm was played by David Arquette, who was dating Courtney Cox at the time the episode was shot. The character started stalking Phoebe, mistaking her for her twin sister Ursula. Once Phoebe confronted him, she promised to help him break his bad habit.

The two eventually started one of the worst relationships in Friends, to the disapproval of the rest of the gang. Unfortunately, Phoebe learned that Malcolm was still stalking Ursula, and she had to break things off, rightfully calling the situation a little creepy.

Tommy (Season 3, Episode 22)

Tommy and Rachel At The Theater In Friends

Rachel dated Tommy, played by Ben Stiller, shortly after her relationship with Ross fell apart. Ross was determined to make a good effort to act normal around Rachel's new date, but that became hard when he realized that Tommy was a terrible person.

When no one else was looking, Tommy would start screaming at innocent strangers,  getting in their faces and calling them names. Of course, everyone just assumed that Ross was jealous, so no one believed him until they finally saw the behavior for themselves.

Tim (Season 3, Episode 24)

Robin Williams and Billy Crystal sitting in Central Perk during their guest appearance on Friends

Since Friends was one of the best sitcoms of all time, several stars were willing to get in on the action and make guest appearances. Actors Billy Crystal and Robin Williams happened to be nearby the day of shooting, so they decided to hop on set and play two random Central Perk customers, Tim and Tomas.

Tomas was lamenting about the suspicion that his wife was cheating on him with her therapist, but his friend, Tim, admitted that he had been the one sleeping with Tomas' wife all along. The two argued and stormed out of the shop, leaving the gang dumbfounded. Tomas was a little odd but sympathetic to the group, but Tim sounded like a simply horrible person.

The Gentleman On The Plane (Season 4, Episode 24)

Friends Hugh Laurie

Some side characters in Friends don't even need real names. When Rachel decided to fly last minute to London to confess her feelings to Ross before his wedding, it was lucky that she had a long flight to think things over. Next to her on that flight was a gentleman played by Hugh Laurie, who was not interested in Rachel's problems.

At first, Hugh's character rudely placed headphones over his ears to show Rachel that he was ignoring her. However, he eventually removed them to let her know that she was a terrible person. He may have been slightly correct, but his treatment of Rachel was still a little harsh.

Steve Cera (Season 5, Episode 15)

Willie Garson as character Steve Cera on Friends

When Ross moved to a new apartment, he was annoyed to be asked by another tenant, Steve, to give $100 as a gift to the building's retiring Super.

Steve was played by Sex and the City's Willie Garson, and while it might have been easier for Ross to hand over the money, it wasn't fair of Steve to expect a new tenant to provide so much. Ross pointed this out, but when he refused to pay, Steve reported to the rest of the building that Ross was greedy and stingy, turning them against the new tenant.

Melissa Warburton (Season 7, Episode 20)

Rachel and Melissa talking on the street in Friends

Rachel was excited to reconnect with her old sorority sister, Melissa (Winona Ryder). After running into her and making dinner plans, Rachel confided to Phoebe that she had once kissed Melissa. To Rachel's frustration, Phoebe didn't believe her, so she invited her to come to dinner with Melissa to prove it.

Unfortunately for Rachel, Melissa claimed that the event never happened. She even went as far as to treat Rachel as if she was unstable or obsessed with her. After telling Rachel that she "got weird," she finally admitted that it had been true. She had lied to cover that she was in love with Rachel, but it was still a pretty horrible way to treat someone.

Amanda Buffamonteezi (Season 10, Episode 3)

Amanda smiling while talking to Phoebe in Friends

Amanda (Jennifer Coolidge) was an old friend of Monica and Phoebe, but they both despised her. During her appearance on the show, she had just returned from living in Europe and was sporting an annoying (and fake) accent.

Amanda was the type of person who couldn't allow the conversation to be about anyone but herself. Instead, she made comments about her shape, forced Monica and Phoebe to feel her abs, and attempted to serenade them, all so that they could feed her with compliments.

Dr. Benjamin Hobart (Season 10, Episode 6)

Benjamin Hobart talking to Ross in Friends

Ross dated a character named Charlie (Aisha Tyler) for a few episodes. She was a genius paleontologist, and Ross had felt self-conscious during their relationship since she had only ever dated Nobel Peace Prize winners, like her ex-boyfriend Dr. Benjamin Hobart.

Hobart, who Greg Kinnear portrayed, ended up being in charge of determining who would receive a vital grant that Ross had been pursuing. The Nobel Prize winner agreed to select Ross, but only if he broke up with Charlie. Naturally, Ross refused and told Charlie about it. Unfortunately, Charlie found this despicable act very romantic, and Ross ended up without a girlfriend.
