What happened to Ross Geller and Rachel Green after Friends ended? The characters portrayed by David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston appeared in all 10 seasons of the NBC sitcom. Schwimmer and Aniston didn't reprise their roles for any kind of spinoff but some interesting details have been revealed regarding their fate.

The on-again-off-again relationship between Ross and Rachel was a plotline throughout the entire series. Ross had a crush on Rachel since ninth grade but he wasn't able to act on his feelings until she came back into his life nearly a decade later. They share their first kiss in Friends season 1 but they don't actually date until the following season. Their romance heated up before hitting a few bumps in the road including the infamous "break," their drunken marriage, and a divorce.

In Friends season 8, Rachel found out she was pregnant with Ross' baby but the two were not together at the time. Ross and Rachel contemplated getting back together after their daughter was born but they decided against the idea. The matter became more complicated when Rachel developed feelings for Joey. Rachel received a job offer in Paris and Ross was heartbroken at the thought of her leaving. In the series finale episode, Ross confessed his love to Rachel at the airport. She initially boarded the flight before getting off the plane to tell Ross that she shared the same feelings. Not much was known about the fate of their relationship but the Joey spinoff provided a major clue.

In the Joey pilot episode, Joey Tribbiani mentioned that all of his friends are married. Chandler and Monica were already married by the Friends series finale, as was the case with Phoebe and Mike. His comments insinuated that Ross and Rachel got remarried sometime after the final episode. Since time had passed since Joey moved to Los Angeles, Ross and Rachel would have still been together so it seemed like they were honest in their hopes never being apart again.

Early on in their relationship, Ross mentioned that he wanted to marry Rachel and raise their kids in the suburbs. His sister, Monica, did exactly that with Chandler, so it wouldn't be much of a surprise to find out that Ross and Rachel also moved out of the city. No matter how far away they live, Ross and Rachel would have made it a priority to frequently see Monica, Chandler, and Phoebe on a regular basis.

It's always possible that the Friends cast would be back for some type of revival but viewers shouldn't hold their breath. Some cast members, including Aniston, have favored the idea of a reboot but it doesn't seem likely. Schwimmer has been on the fence when asked about a revival in the past but he never seemed too enthusiastic about the idea.
