For many fans, Monica and Chandler were the true MVP couple of the show Friends. Whereas with Ross and Rachel, the drama frequently superseded the romance, the Mon-Chan pair showered each other with love and affection as friends, as lovers, through every fight and argument.

According to legend, the two hooking up was only supposed to be a temporary thing before they went back to being friends. But from the moment Monica's head popped up next to Chandler in his bed in London, audiences signaled they had fallen in love with the pairing and the rest is history. Here are some of the sweetest moments from that history between the two:

Monica: Helping him get his dream job

After Chandler quit his lucrative job on an impulse to pursue his dream career, he had no actual idea what that career would be, and for many days just lay around the house trying to decide where his passion lay.

In all that time, Monica was the sole breadwinner and even had to ask Joey for a loan to pay for their expenses. But in all that time, Monica never tried to force Chandler to take back his old job, but instead was fully supportive, even after he decided to take up an unpaid internship in an ad company as a way to start his new career.

Chandler: Being there for her in London

Chandler and Monica sleep together in Friends

It all started in London. During the wedding rehearsal for Ross and Emily, Monica had been feeling depressed because a drunk guy had mistaken her for Ross's mother, and all her old fears of dying old and alone had resurfaced.

Chandler was there for her as a friend, making her feel better about herself. He had no intention of hitting on his vulnerable friend to try to bed her. In fact, when Monica started kissing him, Chandler still tried to be a gentleman, asking her how drunk she was so he wouldn't be taking advantage of her.

Monica: Helping him overcome his fear of commitment

The biggest hurdle to a happily ever after for the two was Chandler's extreme fear of commitment, something the other friends frequently teased him about, and which was so extreme that he ran away a day before his wedding.

With every other girl, Chandler would panic and purposefully end the relationship before it could turn into something actually serious. But thanks to Monica and the love and care she showed him, for the first time, he found himself so deeply in love that his fear of commitment was overcome by his fear of losing her, and he was willing to do anything it took to keep her in his life, even if it meant fighting with Richard, proposing, marriage, and finally having children.

Chandler: Learning dancing just for their wedding

Chandler was never the smoothest of guys, and he had a fear of looking like a fool in public. Yet, he still decided to learn dancing in secret just so he would be able to escort Monica to the dance floor at their wedding without embarrassing her.

Although his shoes were too slippery to move on the polished floor without slipping, he still bravely kept dancing, even though he was reduced to only moving his arms to the music in a very sweet but still hilarious display.

Monica: Teaching him about feminine pleasure centers

Courtney Cox Friends

Back before they became lovers, Monica and Chandler were the best of friends and always ready to help each other out in the romance department. One time, Chandler was dating Joey's ex and was intimidated by thoughts of not being able to measure up to his studly roommate in the bedroom.

So Monica drew a map of the female anatomy and showed Chandler the seven pleasure centers women have that can be... operated... to drive them wild. So successful was the coaching that Chandler's girlfriend came to tearfully thank Monica on bended knees. And guys in the audience spent weeks agonizings over where each of those mysterious pleasure centers is located.

Chandler: Convincing Erica to choose them

Chandler convinces Erica to give Monica and him a shot at adoption in Friends

When Erica was angry about Monica and Chandler lying to her about their backgrounds to get her to choose them for adopting her baby, Chandler faced his greatest challenge: being the grownup in their marriage.

With Monica reduced to tears, it was up to Chandler to convince Erica to choose them for her baby, and he did so by giving Erica possibly his most heartfelt speech in the entire show about how important being a mother was to Monica. The speech worked, and Monica finally got to realize her lifelong dream of being a mother.

Monica: Helping him reconcile with his father

Chandler had a deeply troubled relationship with his parents to the extent that he had broken all contact with his father and did not even want to invite him to his wedding.

It was up to Monica to secretly book tickets for them to go see his father in Vegas, and finally establish a relationship between the two again, something that Chandler ultimately thanked her for doing.

Chandler: Helping her be okay with her nature

Monica has always been aware that her obsessive-compulsive nature was a trial for those around her, and it was something that she often made attempts to change about herself. However, one time, after being forced to concede in front of Monica that she was high-maintenance, Chandler went on to tell her that it was something he loved about her instead of disliking her need to do things in a certain way.

Another time, Chandler stumbled across a messy room belonging to Monica, and while she was overcome with mortification, Chandler welcomed this new side to her nature and helped her be okay with the contradictions in her own personality.

Monica: Teaching him about relationships

In the early days of their courtship, Chandler and Monca got into a fight, and Chandler was ready to call it quits on their romance. It fell to Monica to make him understand that having a fight was not the end of a relationship.

Ever since then, Monica has been the one who taught Chandler what it means to be in a serious, committed relationship with an adult. Because let's face it, it's not like he could have learned that from Joey or even Ross.

Chandler: Not guilting her over living separately

When Chandler had to move to Tulsa for his job, Monica prepared to follow him. But then she received a major job offer in New York and decided to stay back without him.

Despite struggling with the idea at first, Chandler understood how important this opportunity was to Monica, and was willing to live separately from her so she could follow her dream, without trying to make her feel guilty over it.
