Friends may have turned Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, and Matt LeBlanc into household names, but that's not all these stars - or standout supporting players like Tom Selleck and Paul Rudd - are known for. In film and television, they've all taken on a number of roles that have become almost as iconic as their turns on Friends.

While some actors have had more success than others - such as Jennifer Aniston, who has had a lengthy and acclaimed career in film with performances in commercial hits like Horrible Bosses and We're the Millers - everyone has had at least one famous project in addition to their prosperous parts on Friends.

Cole Sprouse (Ben) - Jughead Jones (Riverdale)

Ben was a prominent part on Friends for many seasons, but it wasn't until season 6 when a young Cole Sprouse took on the role of Ross Geller's son with Jane Sibbett's Carol Bunch. While a bit of a rascal at times, Ben is always a pleasing presence to have around, and he keeps his parents on their toes.

Cole Sprouse later found more success in television in the Disney Channel show The Suite Life of Zack & Cody - starring alongside his twin brother Dylan - but his most famous role outside of Friends has to be his turn as the social outcast Jughead on The CW's huge teen drama hit Riverdale, where he earned legions of female fans.

Tom Selleck (Richard) - Thomas Magnum (Magnum, P.I.)

Friends fans are mighty familiar with the ins and outs of Monica's fraught relationship with Tom Selleck's ravishing Richard, and although most agree that she ended up with the right guy in the end, Richard always added a lot of fun to the series thanks to Selleck's heart and humor in the role.

Before joining the show, Selleck made a name for himself as the star of Magnum, P.I., Thomas Magnum, a private investigator living on Oahu, Hawaii who enjoyed a luxurious life and solved crimes left-and-right. The hit crime drama lasted eight seasons and 162 episodes.

Paul Rudd (Mike) - Scott Lang (Ant-Man)

Paul Rudd was an amusing addition to the Friends cast in season 9 as Mike Hannigan, the boyfriend and eventual husband of Lisa Kudrow's Phoebe Buffay. Paul Rudd's comedic style was a stellar match with the rest of the ensemble, and he was the perfect fit for Kudrow's Phoebe romantically.

Though Paul Rudd has had no shortage of stellar turns in comedies for decades, it's his role as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Scott Lang/Ant-Man in the 2015 film of the same name that has become his most famous part to date. He later reprised this role in Captain America: Civil WarAnt-Man and the Wasp, and Avengers: Endgame.

Maggie Wheeler (Janice) - Marva Kulp Jr. (The Parent Trap)

Maggie Wheeler in Friends and The Parent Trap

Every Friends fan knows Maggie Wheeler's Janice (and her signature grating laugh), the ex-girlfriend of Matthew Perry's Chandler Bing and a constant thorn in his side throughout all ten seasons. The characters just couldn't keep Janice out of their lives, as she'd show up everywhere, such as in the hospital when Rachel is having her baby or at the house Monica and Chandler were looking to buy in season 10.

Wheeler hasn't had quite as much luck outside of the series as her co-stars, but her most recognizable role other than Janice would have to be her part as Marva Kulp Jr. in Nancy Meyers' The Parent Trap, a strict camp counselor and the daughter of Polly Holliday's Marva Kulp Sr. - the owner and director Camp Walden, where Lindsay Lohan's Hallie and Annie meet.

Matt LeBlanc (Joey) - Matt LeBlanc (Episodes)

Matt LeBlanc's Joey was a fan-favorite on Friends - so much so that they even tried to give him his own spin-off in 2004 (that sadly only lasted for two seasons) - charming crowds with his good looks and silly offhand statements. And though he may not have been as bright as his pals, he had a big heart, always willing to do anything to make his friends feel better.

Though it took LeBlanc some time to find a solid follow-up to Friends, when he was cast in Showtime's Episodes in 2011, he struck gold. Playing a fictionalized version of himself, LeBlanc slyly satirized the industry in the show while his character works on the remake of a successful British sitcom with its English creators. He later earned a Golden Globe for the part.

Matthew Perry (Chandler) - Ron Clark (The Ron Clark Story)

Everybody loves "The Chan-Chan Man," and much of that is due to Matthew Perry's continually charismatic performance as the sarcastic Chandler Bing across all ten seasons of Friends. In particular, his character truly took off when the writers paired him with Courteney Cox's Monica, as the couple became one of the most iconic in sitcom history.

Perry went on to have a number of strong supporting roles in shows like The West Wing and The Good Wife, but his most famous part of all outside of Friends has to be his role as Ron Clark in TNT's The Ron Clark Story. The film follows the story of real-life educator Ron Clark, who leaves his small hometown to teach in a New York City public school, where he initially struggles with understanding his diverse students. Perry earned nominations for a Golden Globe, an Emmy, and a SAG Award.

Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe) - Michele Weinberger (Romy And Michele's High School Reunion)

Lisa Kudrow's Phoebe Buffay was the life of the party on Friends, always entertaining with some kooky story, but she was more than just a flighty "flower child," as evidenced by her compassionate commitment for her friends (especially Joey) and her willingness to help out her family, such as when she was a surrogate mother to her brother's children.

Outside of Friends, Kudrow has been a star on both the small and big screen, but her most memorable non-Phoebe part to date is Michele Weinberger in the cult comedy classic Romy and Michele's High School Reunion. In the film, Kudrow's Michele and Mira Sorvino's Romy White - two 28-year-old women who haven't achieved much in life - invent fake careers to impress former classmates at a high school reunion, and hilarity ensues.

Courteney Cox (Monica) - Gale Weathers (Scream)

Courteney Cox in Friends and Scream

Courteney Cox was the "den mother" of sorts on Friends as Monica Geller, constantly keeping her companions in line (and well-fed). Her neuroticism was always an amusing delight, as was her riotous relationship with Matthew Perry's Chandler, from its silly start to its resonant resolution.

Cox is equally well-known for her turn as Gale Weathers in Wes Craven's Scream, the ambitious, strong-willed journalist who is initially at odds with Neve Campbell's Sidney Prescott but comes to join forces with her when the killer comes after her too. She has reprised this role in all three sequels and is set to return in next year's Scream installment as well.

David Schwimmer (Ross) - Melman (Madagascar)

David Schwimmer in Friends and Madagascar

Ross may not always be the most "likable" character on Friends - prone to making bad and rash decisions, such as marrying a woman he's only known for six weeks - but he's an essential part of the ensemble nonetheless, and his on-again-off-again relationship with Jennifer Aniston's Rachel is a crucial component in the show's success.

Funnily enough, Schwimmer's most successful role outside of Friends didn't even feature him in his physical form. Since 2005, Schwimmer has played the role of Melman in DreamWorks Animation's hit Madagascar franchise, a hypochondriac giraffe with offbeat sensibilities that play perfectly to Schwimmer's strengths as a performer.

Jennifer Aniston (Rachel) - Alex Levy (The Morning Show)

Jennifer Niston in Friends and The Morning Show

All respect to every other character in the Friends cast, but Jennifer Aniston is arguably the biggest star of them all nowadays, and her career truly kicked off with her terrific turn as Rachel Green. As she evolved from being a spoiled "Daddy's Girl" to a headstrong, self-sufficient career woman and mother, audiences couldn't get enough of this character arc, and she was equal parts charming and comedic throughout all ten seasons.

It's tough to choose one role to stand as the most famous of Aniston's career outside of Rachel - especially given her extensive background in the romcom genre in film - but The Morning Show, though a more recent credit in her filmography, stands above the rest. As the hearty morning news show host Alex Levy, Aniston truly stretched herself in this unconventional part, and she was rewarded handsomely for her efforts, earning Golden Globe and Emmy nominations and a SAG award.
