Content Warning: The following contains discussions of graphic violence.

It's been a year since the servers were shut down for Friday the 13th: The Game. But, thanks to the recent resolution of a lawsuit over franchise rights, the series has the opportunity to generate new content. However, a new film would be just as if not more likely.

The game was a fun take on the 40-plus year series started by Friday the 13th (1980) and fortunately, it remains playable via local matchmaking. This means gamers can still either experience or dole out the game's cartoonishly grotesque kills.

Can Opener

Potato Sack Jason in Friday the 13th the Game

This Weapon Kill exclusive to Friday the 13th Part II's burlap-sack-adorned Jason is far more brutal than anything seen in that Steve Miner sequel (with the potential exception of a wheelchair-related scene).

Jason has the pickaxe he carried in Part II, one of the better Friday the 13th films, which he whacks into a counselor's head. Then, he twists their head all the way around and pulls. It's disgusting and very memorable. Like many of the game's other best Kills, "Can Opener's" dark, tongue-in-cheek name is a plus.

Back Breaker

Friday the 13th Part VI Jason in Friday the 13th the Game

Players can give their friends almost the same fate Jason gave Sheriff Garris in Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives. In that film, Jason bends the sheriff character back so forcefully that the audience hears twig-like snapping before the man folds over like a ragdoll

The "Back Breaker" is what it sounds like: Jason lifts the counselor in the air like their weightless then uses his knee to snap the victim's spine. After swiftly ending their life, Jason then throws their body on the ground.

Pitchfork Lift & Pitchfork Stab

Jason spearing a counselor in Friday the 13th the Game

These Weapons Kills only came with Savini Jason (provided to financial backers of the game as well as a purchasable add-on). If the player chooses "Pitchfork Lift," Jason impales then raises a counselor from the ground. They look one another in the eye before the counselor's lights go out. Jason then lets gravity do some work and he removes the pitchfork from the body.

The second, "Pitchfork Stab," is even more intense. The charred remains of the Crystal Lake psychopath slams a pitchfork through the back of a counselor's head. Two of the prongs protrude from the counselor's face, resulting in a truly grisly image elevated by Jason's impressive and oddly beautiful fiery-ashy appearance.

The Jarvis

As one of the best Jason kills in the Friday the 13th series, "The Jarvis" also ranks high in the game. It's a recreation of how Tommy Jarvis (Corey Feldman) "killed" the hockey-masked serial killer in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter.

Like in that movie, a blade (in the game a pig splitter as opposed to Jason's machete) smacks along the side of the counselor's face. They stand there momentarily before falling, the force of which results in the blade slicing further and further up once its handle touches the ground. "The Jarvis" also ranks high if only for how it shows the game makers' franchise reverence.

Chin Strike

"Chin Strike" is a Weapons Kill exclusive to the Jason from Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan. It's one of several great kills involving a fire ax, just like the one Jason briefly used in that cruise ship-set movie.

Part 8 Jason swings the spiked back half of the fire ax up into the victim's chin. The kill is especially memorable for the counselor's reaction, as they try to yank it down from out of their face. Jason does this for them but pulls back, not down, yanking their jaw clean off.

Eye Gouge

Kenny getting strangled by Jason at night in Friday the 13th: The Game.

It wouldn't be an unpopular Friday the 13th opinion to say this kill is something that probably should have been in one of Jason's movies by now. He's gone for eyes before, but this has always been more of a Michael Myers move.

It's not exclusive to any variation of the character, either, making it equally accessible to beginning players. Jason grabs the counselor by their head and jams his thumbs into their eyes. He then yanks his now-bloody thumbs out of the victim's eye sockets and lets them fall to the ground dead.

Crotch Chop

Sheldon runs away from Jason at night in Friday the 13th: The Game.

Jason's "Crotch Chop" is brutal. It's exclusive to Friday the 13th Part III's Jason and is somewhat reminiscent of how he dispatched of the hand-standing Andy in that film.

In that film Jason slams down a machete, splitting the young man in half. The counselors in Friday the 13th: The Game receive similar treatment, but Jason uses an ax. He pushes the counselor down forcefully and slams the ax down in their crotch. Then, for good measure, he whacks it into their throat.

Shishkebab

Eric LaChappa screams in terror as Jason raises his spear in Friday the 13th: The Game.

"Shishkebab" is exclusive to Part VI Jason and it alone is almost enough to save him from being one of the worst variations.

Jason jams the spear he used in Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives into the ground so the point is facing up. He grabs the counselor by the head and yanks them towards it. Then, he pushes their head so the spear basically goes in one ear and out the other. Jason then rips the spear out from their head. It's vicious and makes the player wish it had been used in a film.
