Roz Doyle, played by Peri Gilpin, was Frasier's most sarcastic and independent character. From starting out as Frasier's producer to becoming a fully-fledged part of the group, she had the driest sense of humor on the show, only rivaled perhaps by the titular character's cranky father Martin.

Roz went through a lot on the show, but she held her own and had always had a witty comeback should someone try to insult her. She was often putting other people in their places, especially Frasier himself. With this, she had many memorable lines, usually in the form of funny one-liners.

Roz Talks Science

"Well, I Guess Since They Cloned Sheep, Anything's Possible."

Roz is one of Frasier's most intelligent characters, and her intelligence is usually reflected in her witty and sardonic sense of humor, often directed at her employer. This is perfectly demonstrated in this one-liner aimed at Frasier and his usually disastrous love life.

Said in "Secret Admirer," Roz makes this joke after Frasier is given a gift from an anonymous sender, and Frasier tells her he's "got" multiple women. Roz draws this funny reference, in disbelief that Frasier could be dating one woman, let alone multiple.

Roz Defends Niles

"As Far As Any Of You Are Concerned, This Never Happened. And If Any Of You Decide To Be A Hero And Call The Police, Trust Me, I Will Find You!"

Niles Crane adjusts his tie while looking at the camera in Frasier.

Whenever Niles' ex-wife is mentioned in the show's narrative, it's usually because one of the group in Frasier is insulting Maris. Yet in the episode "Murder Most Maris," saw Niles trying to help his ex-wife out of a precarious situation where she may go to prison, eventually resulting in him having a breakdown at the coffee house.

Roz is quick to defend Niles and helps Frasier as the two try and discreetly get Niles away from prying eyes. Not one to let things slide, Roz says this threat to the onlookers of the cafe, and while she keeps her threatening demeanor in an otherwise comical situation, it was sweet for her to be coming to Niles's aid and not joining in on the commotion.

Roz Stands Up For Herself

"I've Heard Your Expert Advice. The Only Mental Disorder You've Ever Cured Is Insomnia!"

One of the things most loved about Roz is her ability to hold her own, especially in her male-dominated workplace. While she and Frasier are friends, they often clash, and "Roz in The Doghouse," sees Frasier claim that Bulldog only wants to hire her as his producer so that he can seduce her.

Roz becomes angry at Frasier's blatant disregard for her work and upset that he would believe that Bulldog doesn't actually want her for her talents. She says this snarky line in response to Frasier insisting he's right because he's supposedly an expert in human behavior. Funny, yet effective in insulting Frasier, it's one of her best lines.

Roz Rightfully Calls Niles Out

"Well, Excuse Me For Not Being Rich Enough To Shop At The International House Of Tight-Ass Like You And Maris The Heiress!"

Throughout the whole show, Niles and Roz clashed many times, usually because of their very different personalities and ways of life. In this instance, in the episode "Fool Me Once, Shame On You. Fool Me twice..." Roz and Niles are at odds again, and Niles tries to subtly dig at her by calling her jacket "offbeat."

However, never one to back down, Roz calls him out on his sly insult and in turn gets some of her own jibes in, which seems to clear the air. Not only does this quote sum up how Roz views Niles, it also shows how capable she is of standing up for herself and that she won't take anyone trying to insult her way of life.

Roz Has Some Thoughts On Bebe

"If You Had Said You Liked My Eyes, They Would Have Been On Your Desk Tomorrow In A Tiffany Box!"

Bebe the agent looking annoyed in Frasier

Acerbic agent Bebe was one the most hated supporting characters on Frasier, and for good reason. Here, Roz summarizes the character's deceitful and conniving ways perfectly, as Bebe tries to woo Frasier into hiring her again in the episode "Roz's Turn."

Roz spends the majority of the episode trying to get another job, which leads to Frasier inadvertently telling Bebe that, if Roz were to get the job, he would miss her. Bebe, seizing the opportunity, meddles enough to ensure someone else gets the job over Roz, leading Roz to make this over-the-top yet probably correct assumption about the lengths Bebe would go to.

Roz Gets Reflective

"My Great Grandmother Was 92 When She Died And The Last Words To Me From Her Deathbed Were 'It's So Short.' Of Course, It Was The '70s, She Could Have Been Talking About My Skirt."

The episode "Death and the Dog" follows the main characters all realizing that perhaps the reason Eddie the dog has been so down in the dumps, is because so have the rest of them. This leads the group into a deep conversation on the futility of life, and how short it actually is.

Roz's words are unusually reflective of her character, which is perhaps why she quickly turns the statement into a joke about how short her skirt was. Still, it's a memorable quote for the insight it provides into Roz's character and how she views deeper things like mortality.

Roz Makes An Observation

"She's Mean And Arrogant, But Not In A Funny Way Like You."

Roz makes this comical observation to Frasier in "Trophy Girlfriend" directed towards Julia. Throughout her time on the show, Julia, played by Felicity Huffman, is rude and unkind to those around her for no apparent reason, and she has a problem in particular with Roz.

Considering that Frasier and Julia go on to date, Roz's observation of their similarities is not only funny but true. It's another occasion of Roz insulting someone and being bang on the money about it, while also calling out Frasier on the less likable traits of his personality too.

Roz Is Right About Frasier's Apartment

"I Don't Spend My Idle Hours Imagining How You Live. But I Did Expect Lots Of Beige And Look, I Was Right."

Frasier's empty apartment

Roz always has a way of wittily insulting someone, while also proving a point. This line, said in "The Crucible," is no different, as she puts Frasier in his place as he thinks she would give more than a second thought to where he lives - she didn't need to as her first assumption had been right.

While Frasier's apartment is home to many interesting details and artifacts, Roz manages to sum up the general feeling in a short statement about the bland color. Blunt and sarcastic, Roz gets to point quickly with her humor, and this one of the many great examples.

Roz Considers Her Options

"I Stood In The Hallway Trying To Decide Whether To Come Back In Here With You Guys Or Take My Chances On The Pitch-Black Streets With The Muggers And The Weirdos. So I Went Down A Couple Of Flights..."

In "Dark Victory," Frasier throws a birthday party for Martin and invites Roz to make her feel less homesick. However, the night goes awry when Niles argues with Frasier over a patient, and Martin and Daphne squabble about Daphne's work methods.

Roz decides to leave just as a power cut happens, and she reluctantly returns to Frasier's apartment. This quote is a perfect example of Roz's sarcastic humor and her ability to get her point across in a funny and blunt way, as she jokes that perhaps the "muggers and the weirdos" rival the group as better company.

Roz Summarizes Her Love Life

"All Of A Sudden He Got This Look On His Face Like Indiana Jones Running From The Big Ball."

Through the 11 season run, Roz never did have an easy time with her love life and was often seen complaining about it to Frasier. "Breaking the Ice" sees Roz relay an awkward encounter she'd had with a man, where she accidentally tells him she loves him, rather than she loves what he was doing.

In true Roz fashion, she boils down the encounter with this hilarious movie reference. This line perfectly portrays the awkwardness of the situation while showcasing her own dry and perhaps slightly dramatic sense of humor.
