Actor Kelsey Grammer may have revealed the Frasier reboot's release date. Paramount+ is bringing back the high-brow psychiatrist to the small screen two decades since his Seattle-based show ended. This time, however, he will be back in Boston, where he originally debuted via Cheers. Getting the Frasier reboot off the ground wasn't easy for Grammer since he had been shopping the project for years before Paramount+ ordered it into a series. Even after it was greenlit, it was met with several complications, including the difficulty to decide on its premise.

With filming already done, Grammer shares in a new interview with New Jersey 101.5 when the Frasier reboot may premiere. See what he said below:

“[We are ]aiming for October 1st. We’ve shot ten shows, we just finished up last Tuesday. it’s a terrific show.”

What To Expect From The Frasier Reboot

Despite initial reports claiming that no other character from the original show will appear in the reboot, it has been announced that Peri Gilpin will reprise her role as Roz Doyle. Her involvement will only be in a guest capacity, but it's still enough to excite Frasier fans who are looking forward to seeing her character reunite with Frasier. Meanwhile, Bebe Neuwirth's Lilith will also appear in the Paramount+ endeavor, which makes sense considering that her and Frasier's son, Freddy, will be in the revival.

Plot specifics are still being kept under wraps, but the Frasier reboot is confirmed to address Martin Crane's fate to honor John Mahoney's legacy. Like the Seattle-based show, the Paramount+ project will heavily focus on the father and son dynamic, but it would shift center on Frasier and Freddy. There is no word if Niles and Daphne will have any kind of role in the show, but the fact that their son, David, will be featured means that the couple will at least be referenced.

This will be Frasier's fourth and likely final act, so hopefully, he finds the happiness that he has long been looking for. Whether the Frasier revival will give the character a clear love interest is uncertain. But after all the heartbreak he has had to endure, it would be great to see him finally settle down for good.
