Here's what happened in Four Weddings And A Funeral's 2019 sequel short One Red Nose Day And A Wedding. Four Weddings And A Funeral is one of the biggest romantic comedies of the 1990s, with the Mike Newell directed film making a star out of Hugh Grant. It also spawned Wet Wet Wet's hit single "Love Is All Around," which topped the charts for months in the UK. The film also made Grant the king of the rom-com in the years that followed, including Notting Hill, Two Weeks Notice and the first two Bridget Jones films.

Richard Curtis wrote the script for Four Weddings And A Funeral based on personal experience, and following its success would create beloved sitcom The Vicar Of Dibley and would reunite with Grant for Notting Hill and Love Actually. He most recently penned the screenplay for the Danny Boyle film Yesterday.

In 2017 most of the cast of Love Actually reunited for Red Nose Day Actually, which caught up with the characters from the film over a decade later. Red Nose Day is a charity fundraising event in the UK and in 2019 Richard Curtis - who is also co-founder of both Red Nose Day and Comic Relief - reunited the majority of the cast of Four Weddings And A Funeral in sequel short One Red Nose Day And A Wedding.

One Red Nose Day And A Wedding also celebrates the 25th anniversary of Four Weddings And A Funeral and opens with Charles (Hugh Grant) preparing to walk his daughter Miranda down the aisle. Charles is still together with Miranda's mother Carrie (Andie McDowell), and their daughter is marrying Alicia Vikander's (Tomb Raider) Faith, who is the daughter of Kristin Scott Thomas' Fiona. Rowan Atkinson's bumbling Father Gerald also makes a comeback while Sam Smith makes a surprise cameo singing at the wedding.

It's at the wedding reception that One Red Nose Day And A Wedding starts filling in some blanks, revealing John Hannah's (The Mummy) Matthew has met a new husband, Bernard and Lydia had six children, and Charles' jilted bride Henrietta has moved on to her third husband. Laura still has the garish wedding ring Scarlett gave her in the first movie, but sadly the latter doesn't appear as actress Charlotte Coleman passed away in 2001.

Pretty much every romantic pairing from Four Weddings And A Funeral is still going strong in One Red Nose Day And A Wedding - aside from the implied Fiona/Prince Charles union from the film's final scene. The short is littered with in-jokes too, including "Love Is All Around" playing at the reception and gags about people not noticing the rain. It's syrupy, sentimental short film, but its feelgood sweetness can't be denied.
